Asked for a double bed but got two singles pushed together. Apart from this the hotel is great. Food is very good. Location is great, just next to the marina. Taxi rank is close by and so is a bus stop for Faro etc. Will definitely stay there again.

We stayed in Vile Gale Ampalius in March 2007. What a lovely hotel, breakfast was excellent, and we had two evening meals in the hotel - a buffet for a Spanish evening and Portugese, €24 each including wine. We cannot recommend this hotel enough, and we would definitely return.

Disappointed that room was so defferent from web-site. Reception staff were not interested and were not helpful when we were not with a travel company. Would not book on line with you again.

The Vila Gale Ampalius does not have internet access. Furniture in the rooms above should have had soft pads under feet, very noisy. Breakfast tables where not cleared quickly enough for later sittings. Other than above it is a very nice hotel and myn children did not want to leave!

The hotel staff where all very pleasent and attentive to customers needs. The location is first class, 50 yards from the beach, 100 yards from the Marina. Our hotel room looked a bit shabby and was in need of a refurbishment. Despite requesting a double bed we got 2 singles stuck together, very annoying and the tv remote control did not work. However we still enjoyed our stay very much.

This hotel is by the beach and harbour, everything about it was very good. The staff was very helpfull and service good.

This hotel has changed quite a lot since the last time I stayed there. It now caters mainly for golfers which is ok if you want a golfing holiday. I did not. The breakfast was not very good. Also all the main reception was very smokey.

I felt the main pool area at the hotel was the only real negative. It was very bland and uninteresting with beds in rows and no plants or other greenery - just concrete. The children's pool and surrounding grounds however were very attractive. The buffet breakfast was average. Overall I would certainly recommend this hotel and would stay there again. The location for the Marina was excellent.

Rooms good and clean. Restaurant for breakfast good and clean. Not many staff around to help with bags, golf clubs etc. Reception in the day very good but at night, average.

I had no problems from start to finish of our stay. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I am planning another stay in the area and this hotel is the one I plan to stay at.

We actuallly stayed for 6 nights at the Vila Gale Golf outside Albferia which was excellent. Our last night we came into the Ampalius which weas excellent. The location make even more so. I would recommend either of these Hotels to anyone.
