Right behind the opera and a few steps from the major museums and attractions, Astoria is an excelent hotel with very big rooms and a very polite staff always ready to help the gests. the breakfeast is perfect with options for all tastes, but you need to arrive sooner to get a good table in the breakfeast room. I've made my reservation using Venere on line services for several times and I've NEVER had problems...and you just pay when you end your stay at the hotel. EDILSON E. BARBOSA - BRAZIL

The desk clerk initially indicated that he did not have my reservation. It appeared that my room was not reserved as requested. He then put us in a room not regularly used due to the construction across the street and the loud noise, which began at 7am. The hotel location was excellent as it was in the center of the shopping district with many shops and restaurants.

I found the rooms to be quite large, the included breakfast magnificent and the location prime. The downside of the prime location is that there is always quite a bit of noise, and the hotel (being historic) is not very soundproof ... but I still slept well.

This is a superb hotel located in the heart of the centre of the city.Easy to walk to the opera house.The breakfast is excellent and the hospitality the best.I will go back any minute and stay again a very beautiful hotel,excellent location, excellent service and newspapers for all over the world during breakfast I just love it. When I made reservation via this web page, there was no indication that the hotel would be under renovation during the period of my stay. If I had been informed of the renovation and had noticed of the absence of air-conditioning, I might have canceled my booking.

The hotel was centrally located but a bit tired. The staff were very efficient and the location was just off the main shopping strip. Our bathroom sink was clogged for our entire stay, and half the WC lights were out...not a big bother for us, but we informed the mgmt of these problems when we checked out. We could often hear footsteps and voices from other rooms while in our room, and we'd asked for a *quiet* room. Overall, this hotel was okay, but were it not for the excellent location right off Kartnerstrasse (and for the fact that our regular pension was completely booked), we would have stayed elsewhere.

I really had a pleasant stay in this hotel, room was clean and I was given big room, breakfast was very nice. Location of the hotel was perfect, we didn't have any problem to move around.

Checking in early at 9:00 am, but management was able to find a room ready in 15 minutes. For a tired traveller this was very greatly appreciated. Efficient, excellent service. Any time in Vienna, will stay at Astoria again.

The staff at the front desk was not helpful or nice. They were quite abrupt. The staff at the restaurant was very nice.
