We expected a 4* Hotel as displayed on the doors. Our stay was in a detached annex 100 metres down the alley outside from the main Hotel and dining room. Our very small room with balcony had a new bathroom. Building vibration left dust everywhere. Only breakfast room service offered on request but not advertised. Breakfast is total self serve, cheap and repetitive. Low Season bar and dining room closed in evening. This is a Pensione not a 4* Hotel. Very disappointing, be informed.

This hotel is in an exceptional position. The rooms are very stylish and quiet during the night. Breakfast was good with everything on offer you would expect in a four star hotel. Hotel staff were courteous. We had an excellent weekend in Venice and would recommend this hotel.

Excellent location being only a 2 minute walk from Piazza San Marco. The front of the hotel faces San Giorgio Maggiore and rooms on floors 2 and 3 have wonderful views. Service was stuffy although efficient. Food in the restaurant is of high quality plus the resident's discount of 25% makes eating in fair value.

We enjoyed our stay! The location was excellent, our room was very nice, the buffet breakfast was huge and we were able to enjoy it in the outdoor cafe. I would definitely consider staying at the S & J Hotel again!
