The San Clemente Palace is a large luxury hotel located on the private island of San Clemente, a veritable haven of peace since 1131, when the first church was built. This luxurious hotel is housed in the former convent where the prayers of the Doges ascended for many centuries. Open spaces, sea air, sun, and quick access to the historic centre of Venice: everything comes together to attract tranquillty-seeking holidaymakers throughout the year.
The hotel has 200 rooms with a 4-metre-high ceiling and large windows with a view of the hotel gardens. The furnishings and colours scheme are based on four Venetian themes: the Doges, the Merchants, the Nobles, and the Seafarers. The hotel offers a choice of four restaurants : the elegant Cà dei Frari, Les Maschere, typically Venetian, Gli Arazzi with a classic décor in the large hall of the convent, and La Laguna, more informal, beside the pool.

Loved every minute... an excellent hotel with extremely good service. The location was peaceful and removed from Piazza San Marco and yet easily accessible by hotel shuttle boat which ran every twenty minutes throughout the day and was available around the clock. Perfect breakfasts in beautiful surroundings were a wonderful way to start the day. The hotel was priced very fairly and was in line with what you would expect to pay for a luxury hotel. I recommend it highly and would definitely return!

Simply stunning hotel, staff were wonderful, and we got an upgrade to a suite, so what's not to like. Obviously it's not cheap, but it is reasonably priced for what you get.

This hotel has beautiful grounds and the rooms were clean and luxurious. But we were disappointed with the service. We received no help with our bags to the boat or hotel even though we were transported by hotel staff. The desk staff are very unhelpful. We forgot our toothbrushes and were told there were no toothbrushes on the island and we'd have to wait until the boat left the next morning and then go out and purchase them ourselves. The breakfast buffet is fabulous and the wait staff at the restaurants are kind and responsive. But the prices are extremely high -- we paid 63 euros for 4 glasses of sprite and 2 beers. Finally, the Conceige recommended a tour of a glass factory that turned out to be simply a high pressure sales job. One wonders if the Conceige is paid a commission when this routine is succesful. If we return to Venice, we will stay at a different hotel -- and that would be our decision even if price were not a factor.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic. I've stayed in a lot of hotels for business - Marriotts, Hiltons etc - but this place just knocked all of them into touch. I booked a normal room (not a suite or deluxe) and the room was huge, the ceilings must have been 15ft high and a beautiful king size bed. All of the fittings were of a very high standard. I had a massage in the WellBeing Club and it had to be the best massage that I have ever had. Also in the club were two jacuzzis which I frequented every day. This hotel must be the best in Venice, do not do second best - stay here.

The San Clemente Palace is beautiful and very convenient. The pool is wonderful! The staff is not very fluent in English, and the concierge desk is not as helpful as I had hoped. Our room did not have a separate shower but one with a hand-held nozzle in the tub with a partial glass enclosure that allowed water to flood the floor. Request a room with a separate shower of which as I understand there are few. Book a breakfast included stay or be prepared to a pricy breakfast! The hotel will accommodate you with their free water taxi from the hotel to San Marcos, so you don't have to fear getting stranded! Unless you are traveling with light baggage, the best way to reach to hotel is to pay the ridiculous water taxi fee. Overall, San Clemente is beautiful and a wonderful respite from the tourists at Venice!

A refuge in a hectic city. very hard to find fault, will definitely stay here on our next Venice trip. Roo well appointed and breakfasts supberb, didn't use the dining facilities but looked wonderful. Very opulent & elegant and although 200 rooms you can always find peace and quiet. Motor launch to & from st marks is regular and adds to the experience.

Although this hotel has only recently opened you know it is going to be one of the best. I personally found a few hiccups, mainly in the restaurant area. The rooms are beautiful, I cannot fault housekeeping or reception. The conciergeges will go out of they're way to help you. This is a wonderful hotel to stay in if you want the vibrancy of Venice but a peaceful nights sleep at the end of it! Perfect
