Our experience here is not typical. Our room (#9), which was booked months in advance,was very small and our bed was a fold-out couch. We looked in other rooms and saw that they were much more spacious and had real beds. Bathroom was very small but plumbing good and plenty of hot water. Had heat and A/C. We liked the location a lot--a "real" neighborhood, with small restaurants, shops, and personality. A 25 minute walk from the hoards of tourists in St. Marco Square, minutes from the S. Marcuola vaporetto stop and an easy walk even with luggage from the train station and the Guglie stop on the Alilaguna water bus. Breakfast was good and staff excellent. If we had had a real bed, we would rate this hotel highly.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and when we saw the apartment, we wished we were staying longer. It is well appointed and very quiet. There were 3 of us and the extra room downstairs was lovely. Enjoyed the breakfast area as well and found the location charming. The location of the hotel was great enabling us to explore Venice and all it has to offer.

We loved our stay at Locanda Herion. We had an initial problem with our water heater - which was resolved and we were given a discount on our room when we left. All the staff were very helpful and the room was great. It was spread over 3 levels with the bathroom down a few steps and the bedroom up 10 steps.

The balcony room we signed up for was a balcony room but was barely large enough for the bed. We hardly had room to open suit cases. The bathroom was tiny & the shower had a sloping ceiling. The staff was great though & the breakfast was good. Really close to the train terminal & lots of great places to eat.

For a short break in Venice this hotel was ideal for a base from which to explore the city. It was a short walk from the train station and was near to a ferry stop for easy canal hopping. As we were travelling with our 10 month old baby, we paid extra for a room with a private bathroom, which was spacious and clean. The staff were welcoming and also very helpful with providing a cot (at no additional cost) in our room, which was clean and comfortable. The only minor negative comment I would make is that for the price (which all hotels in Venice are expensive!) I would have expected a slightly better breakfast. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in Venice, and would be happy to recommend this hotel to others.

The hotel was good, but after an excellent experience in Rome it was hard to compare, especially as Venice on average is much more expensive. You can walk from the Train/Bus Station, but it is quite a trek in summer with all your luggage. It was easy to find though. You can walk to the Rialto and San Marco from the hotel in about 15mins. Our room had a bathroom, but it was right next to the shared bathroom for the other rooms without bathroom so we were constantly woken up by people coming and going through the night. The hotel staff were friendly, but no one helped us up the 2 flights of stairs to our room with our luggage when we arrived. Breakfast was simple with bread, coffee, spreads, etc.

We've been to Venice many times and this was the best hotel in his price category. Nice and friendly staff, even the breakfast was not so bad as the comments say.

Not bad for staying right in Venice. I think we were given the worst room that they had. Very small and barely a window. The other rooms may have been better, but our was out off the patio.
