The smallest room on our Europe Tour, but also the most expensive. Not all rooms have a canal view. On arrival your passport is taken for validation with the Police. Wasn't comfortable with the practice, but aparently standard practice in Venice hotels..? We were provided a set of rules (in French which I don't understand), almost hostel like and treating you like a child. You have to sign it. Otherwise a pleasant experience.

We found this a friendly conveniently placed hotel room 205 was a good size, had a BATH and plenty of hot water, this room has no view but does not matter more importantly it was quiet at night as down a side street.

We received an upgrade to the suit in this hotel for an extra 30 euros. This was good value as it was quite a step up from the normal room. The staff were nice. Internet was 6 euros an hour which i find expensive.

Locanda Ovidius Hotel Venice has a GREAT staff in terms of pleasent, knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel is classic Venetian sytle and setting. Continental breakfast in a pleasent room overlooking the Grand Canel. Rooms are clean and bathrooms new but keep in same style as the hotel. No internet however. Prices good. I would stay there again.

My husband and I had a fantastic time and will be recommending the hotel to friends. The staff were so friendly and especially helpful in following up our lost luggage with the airline. Excellent location, beautiful room and breakfast room, great restaurant recommendations... we hope to return!

Stunning location made up for the small rooms that are usual in Italy. Very nice small family owned hotel, helpful staff, adequate breakfast, would certainly use it again.
