Venice is really romantic,amazing city,but to stay in hotel inside the old city is a bit expensive.So we choose this cheap possibility.To say truth first moment we were shocked,room was like a prison with death moskitos on the walls,bed, wardrobe and amazing wiev from window on the city,nothing else.Place was quite noisy,because door was thin.And now positiv things-Hotel is really close to most important things,many restaurants around,place was clean,shover and toilet clean too.For few days of stay it was fine or for students and people who wants to stay in really romantic place too,but not expecting comfort only basic conditions

I had initially read some quite bad reviews of this hostel and as such our experience far exceeded my expectations. It is exactly what you would expect from the price and its communal areas are extremely clean and well maintained, as are the rooms. The only problem was the walls were not very clean due to the remnants of mosquitoes covering a fair amount of them! But friendly, clean, amazing price, (for Venice!) interesting property and fantastic location. Would recommend.

Only thing is since there is no air conditioning, please cover your windows with screens since Venice has a HUGE mosquito population.

I would not recommend this establishment. Even with the low price, it is not worthwhile staying in such a shoddy place in such a beautiful city.

I would have no good comment about this place . There was dead bugs on the walls . We couldn't leave the window open because there was no mesh on the windows . Sheets were ok . There was no lift and there was 70 steps to the third floor . It was so crowded the two nights we were there due to function .People walking in the corridors up to 3 AM. So no sleep for us . I won't go back there again .

There was no air conditioning and there were a lot of mosquitoes so it was not a good combination. I think other people had similar problems because there were many dead mosquitoes on the walls. The bathroom was not the one shown in the picture. We had a room with a private bathroom- it had a moldy curtain and the button to flash the toilet splashed water everywhere. They did come in to fix it, but they didn't clean the tile grout mess that they made. So, there was tile grout all over the bathroom floor afterwards. we told the staff, but no one came to clean it until the following day. They were nice enough to discount 10 euros per night when we complained.

Good place for staying in Venice. I think one of the cheapest! Rather quite and nice. Not crowed, but not far from the center. Enough free bathrooms. Beautiful courtyard, historic building. Everything was ok, except one thing. When we received the reservation information from venere.com, it was written "the breakfast is included in the price", but when we asked about breakfast in College, they answered that it is a mistake and they serve breakfast only for groups. Also we heard student voices in the morning, because our window was near their classrooms. Besides we were awaken by the church bell. But as a whole we liked this place and our staying there.

First visit to Venice, student traveler. Great central location in a quiet and less tourist-frequented area; walking distance to major sites. Bare bones room, good if you are looking for a cheap place to sleep. Only downside was that I found an old bloodstain on the pillow.

It was a fantastic experience overall. I was trying to stay at an old property n Venice and the Collegio is exactly that. It's a beautiful old palace in the heart of Dorsoduro, one of the districts right in the middle of the main canal and quite near the Vaporetto stop; however, if you're carrying heavy baggage be prepared to walk for approximately 10 minutes along small streets and cross at least one bridge. If you are fond of beautiful antique buildings, then this is the place to be. It's a nice place to get to at night and have a shower and a good night sleep. Don't expect anything fancy, the rooms are very basic but the prices are the cheapest in Venice, which is an incredibly expensive city!

It's really well located. It's incredible cheap for what you get. The staff is friendly and speaks a correct english. The surroundings are great. It's great that it's actualy IN Venice.
