Great location, less than 5 mins walk from St Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge. Tastefully furnished room, comfortable beds and spacious bathroom. Excellent breakfast. friendly and helpful staff at front desk. Would certainly return when next in Venice.

The hotel is conveniently located off the Piazza San Marco, although a bit hidden. Good service and room, good breakfast and great value (paid Eur 95 for a double room, breakfast included. rate noted in room was 540).

I understand that at the Bonvecchiati you are really paying for the location but the room was was tiny; disgustingly decorated and not very clean. I also don't think 2 single beds pushed together constitutes a double room! The bathroom was even worse! Breakfast was OK although the service from waitresses was a bit dodgy.

Reception staff unfriendly, including manager. (later we found that many Italians in the hospitality industry fail in the public relations area.) Tea/coffee making facilities in room would have been appreciated. Sheets/blankets instead of Doonas would be appreciated.

The Bonvecchiati hotel was a bad choice in that it was significantly overpriced and badly rundown. The plaster was coming off one of the walls in our room, the bathroom plumbing was old and the carpeting in our room was flat and dirty. Further, the breakfast was of a low quality. We were sorry we stayed there and do not recommend it to others.

January 07 was the second time we stayed at the Bonvecchiati Hotel and it was as pleasant as the first. Great location, very clean, good service by efficient staff, etc. Food good, although I thought expensive. I would recommend it. Ann & Manolo Colen. U.K.

Being Venice, a little tricky to find, but worth the search. Excellent breakfast room, with wide selection of food. Room very comfortable, with lovely en-suite bathroom. Staff very friendly and obliging. Internet access very disappointing, costing 8 Euros every time, hooking up via the television set, which makes it exceedingly difficult to read from close up.

Great location & great breakfast but hotel facilities and services not 4 star. Bar never open while we were there. We rang for room service at 11.30pm (2 glasses of white wine)but were told only the mini bar in room available which had no wine! Woken each morning by accommodation at 8.30am. We booked two triple rooms but got two twins with a camp bed pushed against the wall. You had to climb over it to get to bathroom. Overall not a four star hotel but what a fabulous city.
