Our first impression was good, but later we became disappointed. The free breakfast was barely adequate, tghe single small elevator was not adequate for those who roomed on the 7yth floor, and there was a tired out feeling about the place.

I had a great time at this hotel - it was in a great location with a lovely room. You had to pay for internet access, but there were free locations elsewhere in the city that I used.

Provide internet access in the lobby for a fee without having a fast connection. No information at all about the bad connection!

I had a lot of discrepancies with the valet parking. The garage opening time was a hassle, and seemed subjective depending on who you were. Several other guests were able to get valet service before the arbitrary garage opening time. I thought that this was a very below average experience. I will never stay there again. The towles were terrible, but the shower pressure was even worse. The rooms were tired, and in dire need of being freshened up.

The hotel staff were very friendly and eager to help. The room was extremely clean and good value for money. Hotel corridors did look rather old and in need of a revamp. Breakfast was basic but plentiful. Very quiet. Cable TV. Location, a brief walk to Union Square and the tram line. The only dissappointment was finding out that the hotel rate was 80 NZD cheaper than what i had actually paid hotelclub (we stayed 3 nights). I was under the impression that these companies got group discounts from hotels and so were cheaper than the actual hotel rates. A good budget hotel.

I was definatley pleased with my stay at the York Hotel. It was in an excellent location, not in the heart of the excitement, but only 5 or 6 blocks away. It was right along a bus route, there was an excellent breakfast restaurant two doors down. The staff was pleasant and helpful. All and all, I would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel but a little out of the way - almost a 10 min walk from nearest cable car stop. Also - nightclub and theatre downstairs make it quite noisy, so don't expect any early nights for sleep.
