Great last-minute rate. Good continental breakfast. Definitely clean and facilities stayed true to the online info. Great location to get around the city - right across from a movie theater too! Staff could have been a bit friendlier.

It was good with free internet and included breakfast. The breakfast was also good. In the future, maybe that the hotel could have a wireless internet connection.

Walking distance of union square (about 10 minutes). adequate, if a little bit dated, rooms. close to tram and bus lines to take you to pretty much anywhere within the city area. breakfast can be a little bit hectic - there isnt sufficient space for 25% of the residents to have breakfast at any time. plenty of eating options within the vicinity.

This is a bargain in expensive San Francisco; although the nearby neighborhood is not too great, the immediate area is fine and it is close to public transportation, movies, restaurants, etc. And for the walker, it is close to everything. I highly recommend this hotel.

Arriving after a 16 hour all-night journey, we were greeted by an unsmiling, unhelpful, uncaring receptionist who refused to listen to us when we explained that we had rung to request the hotel hold our booking for us as our flight had been cancelled due to weather. Despite having booked and paid for a triple room, three of us were eventually tossed into a double room barely big enough to swing a cat. The manager later grudgingly agreed to refund our first lost night, and we are still awaiting the refund. The hotel itself appears quite pleasant but the reception staff (or one of them) need to be sent on a customer relations course. We would not recommend this hotel. The location is average.

Has real character. Great location on Van Ness ave. Mels Drive Inn located downstairs that serve room service. The famous San Francsico Tram only blocks away.

Its a very old building, old buildings come with a smell... only this buildings smell was so bad it stayed on my clothing. the beds were clean as well as the carpet. but the smell. put this place down.
