Based on the fact that 'breakfast' consisted of coffee from paper cups and half a muffin or croissant I gave dinner a miss. While the building possessed character the place was seriously lacking in ambience. There was no sense of atmosphere of any kind in the tiny dining room which out us off using the room after the first morning. The silence in the 'dining' roomw as deafening. Our room was so small we couldn't open our baggage on the floor. We had to put the cases on the bed. As a result moving around the room was like an obstacle course. An external stairwell led directly to the window of our room we weren't able to leave the window open at any time to ventilate the room. Add to this the fact that the windows were not sound proof and being located across the road from a hospital there was plenty of noise.

Great little hotel for the price (we payed $99 a night). Not worth more than that. Rooms are very small but beds are VERY comfortable. Nice decorations, friendly staff. parking was a pain and expensive but overall a nice stay for a couple of nights in SF.
