maintenance not strong -- radio didn't work, neither did overhead light, elevator clanked late at night and the cleaning staff seemed to think that midnight was a good time to ride up and down doing their chores

The hotel was really priceworthy and well located just "behind the corner" to great shopping and you can very easily get to all the interesting places in SF as Chinatown, cable cars, Fishermans warf and the rest. The lobby, the bar and the breakfast room at the hotel were really well decorated, clean and the athmosphere very familiar, which I think most Europeans will find very appealing. Friendly staff too.

While an older hotel, the King George is newly refurbished with restful colors. It is also very convenient to Union Square and many excellent restaurants. I would stay there again.

The hotel has been completely renovated. Its main assets are its location, staff (very warm and helpful), and pricing. Room 816 adjoins a NOISY CONTINUOUSLY OPERATING MOTOR. it made sleeping DIFFICULT. If we had been advised of this, we would have asked for a different room.
