For the price, I would rather stay at a motel. Our room had a moldy smell and the sheets had permanent stains on them. The only good thing was free wine, but unfortunately the wine tasted as if they were open the night before. The parking situation wasn't that great either. My wife and I had to walk 2 blocks from the parking garage to the hotel, unless we wanted to pay even more for valet

My husband & I came to this hotel for the first time. The location is fantastic, the hotel is old and you can smell it in the room, but it's not that bad & you get use to it. The front desk service is quite good but depends on who is there. The front desk manager is very helpful & smiling all the time so it gives you a good feeling. The cleaning service in the room wasn't that great, everyday they forgot something else to put or change. The wine reception is cool, we got the chance to meet people from all over the world. All together, I think we'll return to this hotel on the next time in San Francisco.

Excellent location, walking distance to everything. Room didn't smell the best (old) but otherwise clean. Could stay again.

My husband and I enjoyed the Continental breakfast in the morning and the complimentary wine in the late afternoon. The hotel was quiet and clean. The people at the front desk were very helpful and were able to provide basic tourist information.

Very nice older style hotel with great staff and a very friendly atmosphere. Wine tasting each afternoon is an excellent way of meeting fellow travellers.

The hotel is very clean with basic facilities. The room is quite small, but big enough for one or two people. The bathroom is very small without any window, I really think they need to have some kind of ventilation. The front service desk is quite bad, as they didn't help me when I checked in, and I had to take my three luggages upstairs by myself.
