An excellent hotel! Very good location. Great for the Price and friendly staff. Slightly strange smell about the place, but this was not a huge problem. We would definitely stay here again, and avoid paying huge Union Square Prices.

Excellent little hotel very close to Union Square - great location. Breakfast was included - a light cereal buffet which was good to start the day. Staff were helpful when needed. Would recommend it and stay again

Very comfortable with a fridge in the room. Continental breakfast was very basic and the same menu daily. Disconcerting was the huge glass jar placed prominently at the front of the breakfast table for tips. Even if you want to tip this blatant display was a put off. There were no staff to help you and you had to clear up your own table. So why had you to tip.!! Very centrally located with a walk to restaurants and shopping. Very very basic but I suppose good for the price. The staff need to be trained in customer relations. Diana and John Australia

A charming hotel with bags of character. Reminds me of an English country hotel and this in the middle of a huge city. Location is perfect, only two blocks from Union Square and one block away from the famous trams making it easy to visit Fishermans Wharf, China Town and other centres. Food is excellent in the White Horse, part of the hotel and the mini bar prices are honest and very affordable. Would stay there again.

Great location and excellent value for money. Buffet breakfast was really good and included in the price! Very friendly staff. Room was basic but clean and all that was needed for an short tourist stay.

This hotel is tidy, affordable and close to union square but the rooms are very small and the single beds, which Americans call Twins are uncomfortable. The service is definately questionable! I would shop around but if you have a budget then this hotel will be ideal.

Beautiful building, great location. The valet parking worked well, they were attentive and careful. The staff were pretty friendly. The room wasn't fantastic but it was full of character and it had a friendly individual feel. The breakfast was pretty good compared to most free hotel breakfasts. Overall, very good value and a great experience.

Location very very good, breakfast included which was a supprise, simple and healthy breakfast but after one day much appreciated !! Instead of those normaly heavy ones in the US.

This is a nice little hotel, especially at the heavily discounted rate. It's not the Ritz, but its clean ,comfortable and very well located. The staff are friendly and helpful and it has a good free continental breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice little hotel, clean, friendly service. Very central, near to all the attractions. Free internet service. Only thing I wished I had was a bathtub in the room. After walking hills all day, a bath would have been great. However, shower was fine. I loved the City. Rate it 4 out of 5.

Please don't forget to check the restaurant in the hotel (White Horse). THe food is very good and at a very competitive price too.

A good base and central location. 5 mins walk to Union Square, Chinatown and Cable Car routes. No tea making facilities in the room, but Walgreens is close by, if you need to get a kettle etc. The rooms were basic but very clean and as a smoker was pleased to get a smoking room, which are hard to come by in California.
