This hotel is brand new and was still being finished while we stayed. It looks like it will be gorgeous when it is finished, including a garden and pool area which were not completed yet. There was also no proper sign outside the hotel which made it difficult to find, as it is off a little side street and is not obvious from the main road. Access to the metro was easy, a 5-10 minute walk, and cheap at 1 euro per trip. Only problem is the metro stops running at 9pm, so we had to use taxis at night. However the taxis were not expensive, 15 euro from town to the hotel, which still makes this hotel better value than central city ones. It was also nice to stay in a suburban area away from the tourist centre, and get an idea of how everyday Romans live. Our room was stylishly decorated, all new furniture and appliances. The only problems were the air conditioning and the elevator were not working, though I imagine they will be fixed as the hotel is completed. We were sent out to breakfast at a local cafe as the dining area was not yet finished. The cafe was lovely with friendly staff. Italian breakfasts consist of a pastry or croissant and a coffee, this is quite normal so don't feel disappointed! We were on holiday in Rome for one week and really enjoyed our stay. Having travelled further around Europe we can safely say Hotel Strand was excellent value for money, and we would definitely stay there again.

There are not any landmarks close to the hotel. the hotel is far away from the center of town, about 12 stops with metro. also breakfast was non existent. they offered us breakfast not inside to the hotel but outside , where they only offered us coffee and a croisant. generally the room was ok but the money we gave too much considering that they didnt offered us breakfast and the hotel was quite far away from the centre.

This is a new hotel that is not finished yet. There was no lift working. There was no internet available. There was no breakfast at the hotel. There is no soundproofing between rooms especially the waste and toilet pipes. Kept us awake 2 nights until we could change to a room up higher It is approx 500m from the Metro not 50 as stated. Very hard to find the hotel as the sign was 15m down a driveway on a piece of paper. But at 99 Euro is OK for Rome
