Really nice place but it is out of town. It would be really nice if they provided shuttle buses at nights from town to Villa Maria as they provide this service from town to Villa Maria in the mornings.

THe hotel was very clean - breakfast they had a good selection to choose from. I thought it was quite a way out of the centre of Rome and we had a problem with the buses coming home at night. But otherwise we enjoyed the holiday and the hotel.

A nice place to stay once you work out the public transport, only draw back was not being able to go around the city at night as the last bus is 9ish.

Our expectations were not too hi, as this is a »low cost« hotel. However everything was even worse. The hotel is very, very noisy all over the night. Cleanliness should be better. The room (triple) was very small- hard to turn around. The bathroom (WC, wash-stand and shower) – all together are at the size of a decent shower. It is convenient to have a car to get to Rome (parking is OK). No complains about breakfast and surroundings (nice park). Hotel has a Wireless Internet Access. Marjan Z., Slovenia

It was a fine place in general, but the location was difficult without a car. Even with the shuttle to take you into Rome, you still had to take the metro to the center of the city from where the shuttle dropped us off and then had to find your own way back. Even though you can take a bus, if you head back at a busy time of day it is a long bus ride.

I stayed at the hotel, on my second day all my valuables were stolen from the centre of rome I had to leave because all my credit cards were stolen I was told by the manager to write to the owner and he would support my application for a refund of 3 nights stay, I have not had a reply, it is now 5 weeks since I wrote I am very disappointed. I would also like to say I have never yet stayed in a hotel where you were given plastic cutlery also the breakfast was disgusting all the residents made comment about it.

The advert for this hotel is misleading, it is not 5km from Rome as stated, but 18kms and it is DEFINATELY not a hotel, but an expensive Bed and Breakfast and although the location is very picturesque, it is not for mainstream tourists who have limited time, but ok for a relaxing break (if you're prepared to make ur own meals). The manager is a lovely guy, but he practically runs the place on his own. Transport is the local bus, (the stop being a 7 min walk from the villa) which is always full and then the subway or if u can afford a taxi. It takes almost an hour to reach the city. The facilities are average as is the service and way over priced for what u get. There are no shopping facilities or restaurants within walking distance. I won't be recommending this hotel to anyone.

It took us 8 hours to find the place because the address given to you is not correct. They are not in Rome as they state on the address they give you for the booking. If you do decide to stay there plan on a 30 Euro cab fare to the train station or an hour and a half bus ride to the train station. Then when you are ready to return plan on 40 or more Euros for the cab ride cause most of the cabbies don't know where it is. They are 5 Km from Rome but that is the city limits not the major sites. You're better off spending 20 bucks more for a hotel in Rome. Also they do not have tours as they state, they do sell tickets for tours but the tours start at different sites in Rome, and those you must find on your own.

I believe that we were told that this was in close proximity to Rome. It takes you half an hour on the bus. There are no ATM's in this area you need to visit Rome to get money. There is a small supermarket 200metres up the road and just two restaurants in town which open at 7pm. If you like lots of countryside and do not wish to be close to other things than this is your place. There was 1 english speaking person who worked there. Pricing was good.

This hotel is in the country with unreliable transport on offer. Plastic knives and forks along side the processed[ plastic] cheese Orange juice made from additives and not oranges. Give this one a miss

The people that work here are the only good thing about this place, there is a fridge in the room but can only be switched on when you are there thephone in the Room isonly for show and the owner uses the place for personal parties

This is NOT a 3 Star Hotel, but an OVER PRICED Bed & Breakfast which is too far out of Rome, in fact it is 18kms from the centre of the city and not 5kms as advertised and the public transport facilities are inadequate. The manager is a lovely man who is terribly over worked as staffing is inadequate and unless you have a rental car, there is nowhere within walking distance to have a meal as the hotel does not have a restaurant. I will not be recommending this place to any of my friends.

IT IS NOT A PLACE TO STAY Price or rate against facilities and location is much high. This hotel is not even one star hotel. The information that was given at -hotels- was totally misleading. It is very far from Rome city and cost by Taxi is Euro 50. It is in a dark village somewhere out of city that unknown for Taxi driver also. It was really bad and a pitiful place to stay. The behave of deskman was not acceptable. His remarks was very stupidness. I think better to book a hotel in the center of city for Euro 80 to 100 than this Residenza Villa Maria Hotel in a horrible place.
