The Meliá Roma Aurelia is a beautiful modernist building surrounded by 10 hectares of Mediterranean forest, in a peaceful area not far away from downtown Rome. After passing through the spacious reception area, the hotel's business and tourist clientele can relax in a vast lobby with comfortable sofas. Luxury goods stores selling souvenirs and jewelry are located just past the lobby.
The hotel's 270 bright and spacious guestrooms feature a contemporary décor in blue and gold tones. Downstairs, a 1500m² (16 000 sq.ft) business center is at your disposal, along with eight meeting rooms, an outdoor pool and adjoining bar, and a fitness center. The Ristorante Sughereta is known for its excellent Italian and Spanish specialties. A wide range of wines and 15 different kinds of champagne are displayed at the entrance to the restaurant. In the summer months, dinner is served on an outdoor terrace overlooking the pool.
Away from the busy streets of Rome, the Meliá Roma Aurelia Antica is located near many of the city's most interesting sites - 6 km (3.7 miles) from the Vatican, 8 km (4.9 miles) from the Piazza di Spagna and 7 km (4.3 miles) from the Castel Sant'Angelo. Rome is famous for its fountains, one of which is less than a kilometer (half a mile) away from the hotel on the Via Aurelia. The city's local water supply is sourced from the nearby hills and is reputed for its purity. Rome's Fiumicino- Leonardo Da Vinci Airport is 27 km (17 miles) away.

with the hotel being on the outskirts of rome the free minibus was a useful perk although the times of the drop offs and pickups were somewhat limiting

The shuttle service to the Metro is about 30 min drive,a bit far from Rome center. The room is big though we had problems with the balcony door lock so that we had to wait a while for the maintenance guy before we could head to Rome. Nice bathroom, spacious .

Spacious, clean, well appointed rooms. Difficult to locate on first visit. Clean refreshing pool and relaxing area a welcome boon on a warm July visit to Rome. Drinks and meals a little expensive.
