We stayed at Marta Guest House for six nights. The hotel is located near The Vatican in a residential part of Rome. There are several very good restaurants, gelaterias, and good shopping nearby. Also, the underground was a short walk. The staff was attentive. The rooms needed some paint. The shower stall was not clean. The bath towels were more like bed sheets. The noisey doors opening and closing woke us up at night. Apart from those complaints our overall stay was acceptable. We were happy to be in Rome!

The bed was a bit stiff, the price quoted in the confirmation e-mail was about 10 euros off, and the building is to the west of Piazza Cavour rather than to the east (as shown on the map). But not a bad arrangement for the price.

Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Excellent location for walking anywhere in Rome, very friendly welcome and excellent service from hotel staff. Good value, highly recommended, but request a room away from reception desk (or bring ear plugs).

The guest house is actually 2 flats in a large block - the rooms are modern and were kept spotless - we couldnt believe it was such good value especially as we were able to walk to the major sighrts

The place was really nice and we would likely book the same place again if going to Rome. The staff were very nice and helpful. But - according to the presentation on the web the guesthouse offers "comfortable Bed and Breakfast standard rooms", but in fact there is no breakfast served at all.

It is probably difficult to find a more welcoming and accommodating little guesthouse in Rome. Marta's Guesthouse is really a big appartment with many rooms, well renovated, beautifully furnished and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay and would visit again anytime. The location is very convenient.

Veery difficult to find as address is #41 which would normally follow #39. However we found #37 then #39 but #41...? Eventually next block we found #39A - a school. Next block #39B - another school or college. Finally next block #41 with little plaque over buzzer saying Martha Guest House. Very old charming elevator. Room was basic but lots of noise from other guests and street noise. Overall good value for money as far as Rome goes. Obviously no breakfast.

The room itself was o.k. and clean. The only problem were the showers and toilets. One toilet sit was to small and both showers were lousy. The water didn't flow off and the sliding doors of the showers were broken. If you use them you have them in your hand. The window was all day open and once also so door, but after telling them that, they closed it. But one praise: As a friend of mine came also to Rome there were no problem to prepare my room as a double room. Sorry, I didn't remember the photos or map of your web site. But Marta's guesthouse is very friendly and gives you a describtion how to reach them via email. You also could also get a lift from the airport if you like and willing to pay about 40Euros. Why do I have to answer all question, I couldn't answer the question with photographs, maps and public area. What do you mean with public area? So I made the cross in the middle.

I have nothing to complain about our stay at "Marta Guest House". The room was clean, very nice people who worked there and the location was excellent.

Small clean room. We had the room next to the reception-desk. This showed to not so good since all incoming phonecall were answered from it. Also everyone had to ring the doorbell to get in to the house. So it also rang in the reception quite often. Although my comments it was a ok place to stay at. A couple of blocks away from St Peters Basilika, 10 min walk to the Spanish steps and 10 min to Piazza Navona. To save money, contact the hotel direct, then you'll get a better price.
