Location at Piazza Bologna is good - the third Metro stop from Termini train station (5 - 10 min). The Metro entrance is next door the hotel. There are also 2 busses - one (No 62) goes to evening/dionner turist areas, but all transporation system functions only till midnight. Laura Hotel is actually a 4th floor of an appartment building. The entrance door to the building is normally closed and one has to buzz somebody upstairs (reception desk) to unlock-open the door. Not very convenient. The lift did not work sometimes. Air Conditioning was there, but did not work 90% of the time. Single room is very, very small and located next to a publicly accessible washroom - very loud when washroom used - not recommended. Bigger rooms (doubles) - some of them face very busy street and must be quite loud. I think, it is better to stay in rooms that face courtyard. Breakfast - rather poor. A sweet bun, bread, jam, honey, butter, processed chesse squares, coffee, orange juice. The same stuuf every day. Bathrooms - fair size, but shower area very tight. Hot water 24/7. Only one towel provided - but changed daily. No good restaurants nearby, but there is an ice cream shop few step from the hotel. Also - nearby - a food supermarket (kind of hidden, ask for directions) with lots of food, wine, etc. No Internet in the hotel. The closest Internet caffee - about 5-10 min walk. TV - no English language channels.

At first impression this seems like a gem of a hotel. Friendly front desk staff, sometimes there is one who can speak English. Nice rooms with a king bed and a clean moderate sized bathroom. Then the cost cutting becomes apparent. The air cond. only works between 1PM and 1AM. It is shut down the rest of the time. It does not blow cold, only coolish air. The maids always turn it off as soon as you leave and open the window to the torrid Rome heat. Towel and lines were never changed in 4 nights. Breakfast is a stale cello wrapped croisant and packaged dry toast. The area around the hotel is dead so you must take the disgusting B line metro to even find a place to eat.

The hotel was nice. The location was excellent, the Metro Stop was right outside the building. The area was nice, very calm and it had a supermarket right behind it *something very hard to find in Rome*. The room was nice, it had air conditioning but it didnt work all day long, but we didnt mind because we were out all day, and when we got back the room was cold for us. The only thing I didnt like was that, in all of our 5 days there, not once did they clean the BATHROOM, they did the bed and vacuumed the floor, but the bathroom everyday was worse than the day before. I cant complain about the breakfast or the reception, they were very very nice and always helped us with everything. Our whole trip was very good in general, and the hotel made it even better, I would just recommend them to take care of the bathrooms a little bit more.

Hotel Laura is very confortable and quite, i felt like being at home, since the hotel is not so big and the employees are very nice with the costumers, most of the them were couples or families.

First, the bad things. Nobody in the hotel can speak English...just 1 lady, but extremely unfriendly. One morning i asked her to help me to check something in the yellow pages, just 1 answer..."I'M BUSY"...that the worst words for people in this business. Good things : breakfast included (decent), directly to the Metro station, a supermarket just at the back of the hotel, and the room was clean and good.

At the beginning it was perfect. Nice location, very nice room, etc. But we stayed 7 nights and the room has never been cleaned properly, especially the carpet and the bathroom. During the whole stay the carpet was never cleaned and the bathroom was hardly cleaned. I had to clean it myself sometimes. In the morning there is some machine which makes a lot of noise, and the room was next to the breakfast room so it was very noisy. During the last 4 days before we leave, they stopped providing us with shampoo first then with soap. Fortunately we had our own shampoo that we used, but we had to claim for soap and it is a shame for a 3 stars hotel. Saying that the whole hotel is air-conditioned is not really true because it is centralized. They start air-conditioning at the end of the afternoon and they stop it at about 1 a.m. so the temperature rises very quickly in the night and you automatically wake up to open the windows in order to have some freshness. Fortunately at the end of the stay they stopped air-conditioning at about 5 a.m., as the city started to be very hot (35° Celsius). The staff is not very friendly, we had a very great welcome in all the other hotels we were before (in Vicenza, Venice, Florence), but in that one it was pretty cold. At the beginning we wanted to recommend that hotel to our friends and family and to come back again, but definitely it's just an hotel where you can sleep one or two nights and not during the summertime. Nevertheless there is a very nice restaurant nearby named "I Preistorici", in Cremona Street. The food is very good and the staff very friendly.

[EN] Good solution between price and location: near Bologna Underground Station, at only 4 steps form Termini Central and bus stop of 62 and 61 (both bus goes to Rome downtown) but the room are very small (i'm a single travaller and i go to Rome enough often). Maybe, ideal for single and for short period (as a week end) but expensive for students.

Out of town but close to Metro. Hotel at corner of a busy round a about so very noisy most of the time. Not much English spoken by staff. Hotel a safe spot on upper floor of a large building .access by lift. Cheaper to eat out than in city centre. Breakfast is included

I think that the breakfast service is very poor:croissants are not fresh and the buffet is very poor also (no yoghourt for instance...)
