good European breakfast (fresh pastry, cappuccino, cereal, yogurt) 4-person room uninhabitable due to strong smell of smoke. Received better accomodations second night. A/C ok but just passable in most rooms. Would stay again as our concerns were addressed.

Overall, we had a nice stay at Villa Florence, good breakfast, nice surroundings, excelent staff. The only thing that was not that "ok" is regarding the temperature of the room - even when in the outside the temperature was a little bit cool, inside the room it was very hot, and we didn't find a way out to fix that up!

I found the reviews very useful and we were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. It is a lovely old world Italian type hotel and the reception staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Although a little further out than a 'central' hotel, we could still walk everywhere, or pick up one of many buses as the Rome bus service is excellent. The hotel had the added bonus of a little patio garden where you could eat breakfast or have a beer in lovely surroundings. The service at breakfast was a little slow but probably most people were leaving it till the last minute so not a problem unless you were in a hurry! We had booked a double room but were upgraded on arrival so that was a nice bonus. I would definitely return to this hotel again.

The hotel was everything I expected. The staff were extremely friendly helpful. I would certainly stay at Villa Florence again.

It was nice that the Villa was located off the main road as it meant the room was very quiet. It was reasonably well located, close to two Metro stations and on several bus routes, but it was a little further out than most of the other hotels. The room was kept clean and well serviced although it was a little cramped. The staff were generally quite nice and helpful and all spoke English. One of the desk staff however was quite rude and pompous when he tried to assert that if a guest wanted to go up to the room he had to leave his passport at the desk. This was not a rule that we had been informed about either upon checking in or at any other hotel. He was quite rude in the manner he raised the issue and implied that we were remiss for not knowing about this supposed legal requiremet. When we questioned him on it saying that we were not aware and had not been informed, he became aggressive and defensive and spoke loudly in Italian to one of his colleagues, referring to us with an Italian swear word, the rough tarnslation of which is "foreign dickheads". My friend speaks enough Italian to know what he had said and when he pointed this out to the staff member the staff member became somewhat embarrassed.

We stayed in the 5-bedded room. It was HORRIBLE! The carpet and walls were stained. The shower was incredibly small and leaked. This room should not be rented out!!!
