The website of this hotel is a complete deception. It was overall a bad experience taking into account the price I paid for my room. It is considerably overpriced and the room was far too small. The television was very old. The furniture was also old in a bad way, and scratched and the TV stand was a piece of black MDF - this is not a 4 star hotel by international means. There are no toilets in the foyer. The staff are not at all friendly in the slightest, which would have at least made the experience less unpleasant. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone in future.

Sightseeing bus stop is just infront of the hotel. and easy to walk access to view points, Spanish square and Trevi Fountain etc. There is no carpet just infront of my room, caused little noisy when someone walked by.

The hotel only has one non-smoking floor which makes it difficult to change rooms as they are usually fully booked. We were lucky and were able to change rooms because the first room they put us in was so narrow you could not walk past the end of the bed without treading on the bedspread!

I stayed here for 7 nights in 5/06. The hotel is in an upscale location within walking distance to the Metro, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, restaurants & shopping. Room was very clean and the bathroom was lovely w/tub/shower, bidet, toiletries. I used the mini-bar to put my own water and snacks in. The hotel has 2 computers for use, but Internet Cafe within walking distance is much cheaper. Breakfast included a variety of breads, eggs, meats, cold cuts, cereals, fruit, yogurt and pastries. The concierge was helpful. Have him arrange a private car to pick you up and take you to airport. It's the same cost as a cab and much nicer. Great way to get to sights, can get on off at will and get a tour at same time. Only complaint is the street outside our room had a strip club and the noise that came from people coming and going from that was loud all night long.

It is not a 4 stars hotel. It is at best a 3 stars hotel. Safety is below international standards: no break glass, no sprinklers and no emergency lights. You can hear what is happening in the other rooms. No turn down service. Main elevator does not have ventilation. Amenities in rooms are below standard. No alarm clock either. No in-house dry-cleaning or laundry, so it is not available during holidays. Wires and naked lamps were showing on corridor walls. The cozy restaurant is underground and does not have daylight. No space to tell more...

From Julie Coscarella - Canada
My husband and I were in Rome last year and stayed at a very elegant hotel close by. Bringing the children this year meant an added room so the Savoy was perfect. The rates were more reasonable without forfeiting quality, service or vicinity to attractions. The staff was always friendly and willing help where ever possible. We were there in August which is a busy tourist season, but I understand a lot of residents are away on holiday. A room on the fifth floor I am sure added to the quietness, which was fine with all of us. I would definitely stay at the Savoy again with or without the children.

I would recommend the Savoy Hotel Rome to anyone who appreciates a high standard of accommodation whilst on holiday. Not only were the facilities of a high standard but also the staff were always very helpful, happy and polite. The location of the hotel was also excellent for doing the 'touristy' things and for good quality dining in the evenings.
