This Hotel was great. First impressions weren't good but when you get into the Hotel and are greeted by very friendly and helpful Staff, the outside facade doesn't matter. The Hotel itself was great. The Staff fantastic. A cooked breakfast, only one out of 7 Hotels stayed in. Also, it turned out to be a brilliant location. Apart from the Vatican, everything in Rome was no more than 20 minutes away. Here again, the Receptionist was great. She gave us a map, a route to follow to pick up all the attractions. Although we were on a side street, we had a magificent Piazza 2 minutes away with pubs, retaurant and bars surrounding it. The other dierection took you into the main street and to all the attractions. The Staff surpassed themselves again when the restaurant they recommended turned out to be brilliant and not dear! Defintely would stay here again.

This hotel did not feel like a 4 star hotel. We were both very disappointed. The reception area looked promising, but the bedrooms were poor. The decor was of a low quality and very tired. Discoloured wallpaper and broken light bulbs didn't help. The room had an overwhelming smell of body odour which didn't shift in the 3 days we stayed despite having the windows open night and day. The sheets also smelt very musty and the overall cleanliness was not that great. Breakfast was of a low quality and although I am NEVER normally picky about food, I was struggling to find something I liked. The orange juice was heavily watered down too. I give very fair reviews of hotels, (see my reviews of hotels in Naples and Venice) but I would NOT recommend this hotel. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Great location near the train station. We thought air conditioning did not work, but at check our we mentioned it and they cleaned all the a/c filters. Keep this in mind at any hotel in Europe when the a/c does not work well. Most important. Andreas at the Front Desk was incredible. The perfect host. Breakfast was wonderful and complete.

We had a very warm welcome at the Hotel Rex, with a friendly and helpful staff. The room was spacious and well cleaned, and we had a good continental breakfast including scrambled eggs and bacon.

This was actually one of the worst hotels that I have stayed at. The beds were just awful. My dad got a back ache from the uncomfortable and soft bed!!! We actually wanted to leave early because we were so uncomfortable, but they wouldn't let us leave!!! They wanted us to pay for the rooms even though we weren't staying there. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE!!!! It was just awful. The room was supposed to be non smoking but smelled really bad and had ashtrays all over it. So don't ever stay there.

The reception were freindly, helpful and efficient. The room we stayed in was large, clean and well equipped. Good breakast with plenty of fresh food to choose from. Excellent location in the centre of Rome but off the main roads. Great places to eat and drink on the doorstep. A bit pricey but at least the hotel delivered quality accommodation. Recommended.
