For a cheap stay, this hotel fits the bill. The gentleman on the door was welcoming and provided us with directions, recommendations for places to eat and maps. The location was terrific for the vatican area, and the pedestrianised old town area nearby, and it wasn't far from Trastevere, or hard to get to on the Metro. However, our room was ground floor, on the corner of two very busy roads, so the traffic was intensely loud. Also, for some ungodly reason some workers began metalwork and construction within the building right outside our room with hammers at 8AM! Completely unacceptable. We stayed here for one night only, and I feel, noise issues aside, we totally got our money's worth. However, I'm not sure I could have handled more than one night with the issues I've described above.

This is a great hotel for the budget travellers. The location is excellent, just a few blocks from the Vatican. There is a good restaurant nearby: "L'isola Que Non Che" with a friendly staff and a good food. The hotel staff speak good English, they are ready to help with any information regarding Rome. My next trip to Rome, I would like to stay at Hotel Prati again! Thanks for a good service!

When I arrived, the staff were not very friendly and did not offer to help with my suitcase. Seems like a small thing but first impressions count for me. The room only had a desk fan which was very loud and I'm pretty certain I asked for an airconditioned room. Breakfast was meant to be included but when I arrived I was told they do not offer breakfasts and was given a 5 euro disocunt. If I had know this in advance, I would have booked elsewhere as a simple breakfast in Rome costs more than 5 euros. Location was as stated, very close to the Vatican, but staying around the Colloseum area is better as there is more to see and do at night and during the day.

Location very close to Vatican city,only advantage for the hotel.Our double room had two twin matresses,one was ok,the other not so good.Room smelled badly,aircondition(costs extra) made too much noise,so we couldn't use it.Shower had a curtain but still there was almost a flood after showering.Towels were absolutely awful...Average breakfast.

Location is perfect. One can see Rome by foot from this hotel ! Price corresponds to what I expected for the room quality. Poor: in the bathroom, when taking shower, the curtain was too short to surround completely the shower and thus the surrounding floor would be all wet, really wet !! The discharge of the WC was working half the way. Even though, the stay was good and I can recommend this hotel.

The Prati was perfect for my needs. The location was amazing-I was able to walk everywhere and restaurants, etc were very convenient. As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe at the Prati. The staff were like big brothers to me, always checking on me and looking after me; I felt like family. Would definitely stay again.
