The hotel was excellent. It was very clean (cleaned every day, including clean towels) The staff were very friendly. There was a good selection of food for breakfast. Cereal, yoghurts, danish, croissants, mortadella, cheese ...) The location is good, it only takes 15 minutes to the major sites and about the same time to go to the station. The accomodation is basic though but then again it is one of the cheaper hotels in Rome ... Good value for money!

We were given a room with no view. We asked for a room with a view and even if advised in advance that it would be noisy, it was extremely noisy, so much we had a hard time to sleep.

As with all accommodation in Rome, Hotel Luxor is overpriced and we weren't expecting luxury. However, the poor quality of the small rooms (ours was a so-called 'superior'), the broken shower, the inedible breakfast and the scaffolding surrounding our room all surprised us. Building work began outside our window at 7.45am on Saturday morning. The reception staff make little effort and the breakfast staff frankly don't care at all. We were on a small tour of Italy and this was by far the worst (and most expensive) hotel that we stayed in.

Great location in the centre of Rome. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Shower and toilet room was very small and would not be suitable for young families. Breakfast was basic and limited. Overall, this is a good hotel for a weekend stay in Rome as most of the time will be spent out and about. We stayed in the Rex Hotel the night before where we were spoiled a bit with a very large room and great breakfast, however it did cost alot more money than The Luxor.

The room - especially the bathroom - was very small! Breakfast was o.k., but less variety. The price of 140 EUR was too high for it! The best of all is the location, because you could reach most sights with bus or metro, which are close to the hotel!

If you are looking for a place to sleep Luxor is just fine. There is noice from Via Nazionale but that is to be expected if you want to stay in a central location. (I always use one of the hotels at Via Nazionale due to the good access to the public transports! There are some nice shops, too ...) The single room was VERY small but clean. The breakfast was sufficient (also assorted sliced meat / cheese which is not usual in Italy.) There was no separate room for left-luggage (You can leave the luggage in the breakfast room).

Very small rooms (I've used it more than once) but very convenient and good quality for a short stay. Perfect location, 10 minute walk from the main train station, Via Nazionale for shopping, central for sightseeing.

We were told upon arrival that the air conditioner was being repaired and we could get into the room in a couple of hours. We left our luggage there and went to get something to eat. When we returned our luggage was in the room and everything seemed ok. However, the room was very warm and stuffy and never did get cool before we left the next morning. During the night I opened the window because it was too hot and stuffy to sleep. Then of course the traffic noise from the street below was a problem. We mentioned the air conditioner problem when we checked out and were told that they would be working on it that day. Two people told us two different stories about the air conditioner repairs!! The shower ran in waves of hot and cold and we were not able to get it regulated (quick shower that day). We were only there one night -- thank goodness.
