Hotel King Rome is centrally located and a 5 min. walk to the Spanish steps, 10 min. to Trevi fountain. We walked to all sights using no public transportation. The hotel is old and once was a very nice hotel. Today, all areas of the hotel need an update. After traveling across Europe for several weeks and experiencing many hotels, this is the one that was not properly rated as a two, not three star hotel. No special amenites in the room. The concierge was very helpful and nice. Breakfast was okay but the same each day. We will choose a more updated hotel on our next visit to Rome.

I had read some reviews about this hotel before our trip and a common negative theme was the hotel needed some updates which is true. We noticed the room next to us had been updated. Apparantly this is a work in progress. Other than that, the hotel was in an excellent location and the staff were extremely helpful!! I would definitely recommend this hotel and maybe your room will be updated by the time you get there....which was not a hinderence for us since we were only in it to sleep.

Staff were rude and unhelpful. We arrived at 1 o'clock in the morning and received a frosty welcome, even though we had telephoned in advance to inform them of our arrival time. Staff were slow and reluctant to top up breakfast buffet. Reported room maintenance was not carried out.

The room was not as good as i thought it would be.I paid £85(119 euro's) per night for a double room,however we got a twin?,the full Euro rate for the room was 200.If i had paid the full rate i would have been even more unhappy.We asked to change to a double room,but the one that was offeredto us had even less facilities.May be i was expecting too much for a room in July and in the center of Rome for that price.The breakfast was ok,the front desk staff were helpful and friendly.However i would not recommend this hotel to friends as it stands at the moment.

The this hotle in Rome delivers everything that it promises in its description on the Web, and a lot more. My wife and I stayed there for four nights in July 2005 en route to a holiday in Tuscany and Venice. We rated the tops on all counts, but particularly for the friendliness and helpful assistance of the front desk when we had a problem, The Hotel is very reasonably priced and also offers a magnificently central location, good service, fine facilities and a great breakfast to boot. What more would one need?

Overall, the stay was fine. However, the very first night we were placed in a room that didn't have a central airconditioning unit and the room felt like it was 100 degrees. If we had not complained several times, I'm sure we would not have been moved to another room. The last two nights were very comfortable. Location was very important for us and we found the location of this hotel to be extremely convenient.

The Hotel King was in very bad condition. It was untidy (almost filthy), old and it looked like it hasn´t been renovated since the 80´s. In our room there were stains on the wall-to-wall carpet and on the walls. The bath tub was stale and there was some filth on the shower handle and the soap rack. The overall impression of the room was dark and dirty. The hotel was as a whole totally worn-out and altogether terrible. The only good thing was the location and the service wasn´t that bad either, the staff was quite helpfull. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody and I think it shouldn´t be on the market at all and it definitely shouldn´t be rated as a three-star hotel because it was barely a one-star hotel. You can truely get a lot better hotel with the same price which was really, really expensive.

Good location, like in the center of Rome. Most of the reception personnel are multilingual. We can speak with them in english and spanish as well, and of course, in italian. Just what you should expect for a three stars hotel.

Tired and dated decor however clean and comfortable. Breakfast ok. Location excellent and able to walk to all the major sights. Would stay here again.

This is an old hotel but in a good location to sightsee in Rome. The service was fine. The water draining from the shower went onto the bathroom floor the last day we were there. When we checked out we told them and the man at the desk said no problem. There was also some mold in the bathroom.

The best thing about this hotel was the location. The breakfast wasnt rich. Service was exceptional except for one staff member. The hotel is very old and needs refurbishment.
