As with all hotels in Rome, this hotel is overpriced. It is, however, located right in the middle of downtown and you can walk to almost everything. The hotel did charge for the first night as soon as the reservation was made, although Venere indicated that would not happen. The hotel did account for that correctly when we stayed. In all it was a quite satisfying stay.

There was no lift at this hotel. Although there was an electric chair on the side of the stairs which did not seem to be in use as we saw a woman with poor mobility struggling up the stairs. We were asked if we would like to be on the 5th floor which was quieter and more secure for two women or 3rd. We took this option and made sure we took a toothbrush to breakfast to clean teeth before going out and ate dinner before returning to the room. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Great location-good price for quality of people & for Rome (all expensive). VERY helpful staff at front desk, both for restaurant suggestions and for airport shuttle service, as well as subway info. Would stay here again. Rooms on first two floors not as nice, but with no elevator and lots of luggage we compromised. Next time less luggage and nicer room!

My relationship with the hotel started poorly when, 10 days before our arrival in Rome, my credit card was hit for one-third of the total hotel bill. This was despite the booking confirmation saying that my "credit card WILL NOT BE CHARGED now but is required only in order to guarantee the reservation". I have never experienced this with any other hotel and found the explanation a bit weak. The hotel claimed it was to stop them being a victim of fraud! We traveled as a group of five, sharing two rooms. The rooms were clean and while not huge, they were adequate. Breakfast was absolutely fine and the breakfast room was quite charming. However, the noise in the bedrooms from the road was tortuous but at least it was sometimes drowned out by the noise of the air conditioning unit which resembled a jet fighter overhead! None of us slept very well at all which is not ideal when you are trying to have an action-packed trip catching all the sights of Rome. The hotel was about a 20 minute taxi ride (10 euros) from the Vatican and most other popular tourist spots. The Basilica right next to the hotel is absolutely worth a visit and is actually one of the stops on the open-top bus tour, which I would recommend if you are a first time visitor trying to get your bearings. In summary we found the hotel to be great value for money if you don't need sleep. However, be aware of their pre-charging 'policy'.

The hotel was better than the website suggested - I was not certain that all rooms would have en suite facilities, but they did. The air conditioning and double glazing is extremely efficient. Service is excellent. The room was very comfortable; it needed one or two minor repairs.

It was terrible. There were blue stain fungus in the bathroom, strange smell. There was no lift in this hotel and we lived on 5th floor - to get 5th floor with luggage was wonderful)))
