For the typicall price offered in Rome this Hotel was quite ok, the reception speaks at least spanish and english, they are willing almost all the times to help you. Some surroundings specially at night are a bit scary. The rooms were not that clean, we found lots of dust at some places. The bathroom was very ok. If you want to eat a good breakfast, you'll need to wake up very early, otherwise you'll find just bread, coffee, butter and jam, the ham, cheese and sweet pastry will be over. Specially if a bus full of americans arrive there one day earlier. Overall, wasn't a stressed accomodation. I would not have problems to stay again there, but next time I'll try another Hotel.

The best thing I can say about this place is that the place is still standing. If 1970's seedy roadside motels come back into fashion, the Beethoven will be the next Big Thing. Until then, stay away. I stayed 10 minutes, cancelled the room, and got out.

Rome actually is quite dirty and worn-out. Come visit Riga, Ventspils or Jurmala (Latvia, EU) after Rome & you'll see what I mean :) Hotel "Beethoven" therefore was surprisingly clean, well maintained and staff was kind and helpful. Actually I spent two nights reading reviews on Roman hotels before I booked the room, and "Beethoven" was truely the best choice, considering its condition, location and price. According to the many reviews I've read: majority of hotels in Rome are shabby wrecks, located on the noisiest streets, stuffed with dreadfully malevolent staff (No, really! Read some reviews yourself, it can be real fun). As to tourist attractions, Vatican and Colossuem were really great, but Trevi Fountain was just totally gorgeous :)

My family visiting from overseas really enjoyed their stay at the Beethoven. The Beethoven were professional & provided great assistance by providing directions around Rome.

The friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the rooms and the price makes this hotel one of the best in all of Italy. I would definitely stay here again and would reccomend it to anyone traveling to Roma.
