AS it was triple (real triple, not double with bed) room - it was really big one. We like it mutch. And all of two air conditions was working good. Second room was double, not too big..and air condition was working not too good. Nice location - center in 7 mins, too quiet around for young people may be :) but really it was good.

Reading the comments on Venere.com, I was prepared on what to expect. We stayed at Alessandrino for 4 nights and it was a lastminute booking, we accepted to have a noisy room. The walls are very thin (2. floor) and I heart everything, my neighbour did in their bathroom. Unfortunately, the doors close very loud and this also can wake you up several times a night, when other guest come back. We didn't have breakfast as we stood up late and had breakfast in a nearby Bar. This hotel is okay if you know what to expect and stay there for only a few nights.

This hotel was really very nice, quiet, clean, within a short walk (10-15 min.) to St. Peter's and the vatican. The breakfast even included scrambled eggs and yogurt! Staff was friendly and spoke English well. The worst part was just trying to find the place from the directions posted on the website. I would recommend getting more explicit directions before you get there if you are walking. <To help a bit: after you get off the bus, you need to go under the tracks (to the back side of the station), turn right and go up the hill until you see the set of steps on the left. Take the steps (at the top is a shrine to the virgin Mary) and continue going straight up the hill. Hotel is tucked away on the left toward the top of the hill, but there is a sign posted by the road.> If you go down to Via Gregoria VII there are some shops and during the morning there is a market as well.

Definitely a good place to stay. The highest level of the hotel has a wonderfull view on the Saint Pierre Church : a very good place to relax after a hard day walking. Busses and train are all available at 5 min from the hotel. Very well located to be closed to Rome Centre but outside all the noise of the night if you want to have calm and relax trip !

Nice small rooms. Pretty central location, close to St.Pedro trainstation. We diden`t get an doubleroom with balcony, so the room felt a little bit tight, but this is Rome so that is maybe to much to ask for? Overall an great stay in an quiet neighbourhood.

Alessandrino is a bit hard to find, but overall a pleasant hotel. One receptionist spoke fluent english, while the other only knew a few words (we still managed alright). It is not located in the most pleasant section of Rome, but the hotel itself was more than fine. It is about a 10 minute walk to the Vatican, and from there about another 15 minutes to the center of Rome. The room was more than fine for us, which we used as a basecamp to explore other parts of the city. The room was clean, came with a minifridge, and a fairly large bathroom. Families traveling with children might find them a bit cramped, unless they opt for more expensive rooms.

I had a reservation but I was told I was not in their computer, so I did not have a room. I was given a room in the basement of the building next door, with no hot water. The staff did not care about us or our problems with this arrangement. We were told we must go to the only room they could get for us and that was in the Hotel Luxor,(owned by the same company or person of course). The Hotel Luxor is on the other side of town, on a busy intersection. We were on the second floor. The traffic noise kept us up most of the night, also there was shouting outside in the street,a possible fight of some kind. We had this room for 2 nights. I booked these reservations months in advance to be close to Vatican City and also to be in the same hotel as my sister. We had to travel across town for every tour we had booked, spending too much time commuting and very little time with family. I do not want or think I sould have to pay for a basement room. What little I saw of the hotel did not impress me at all. What did impress me was the indifferent attitude displayed by all of the staff at the Hotel Alessandrino. If I couod rate the hotel staff it would be a -10. As far as help from anyone, very little English was spoken by the staff, or perhaps that is what they wanted us to think because they certainly did not want help us in any way.

My sister & I w/spouses booked rooms at Hotel Alessandrino but my spouse & I arrived a day later. Upon our arrival on June 28th, my sister said even tho we both had confirmation #s thru Venere booking, theirs wasn't entered in the hotel computer & they had no room for them! They put them in a basement apt 2 doors down which was cold & no hot water for showers! It was miserable! When we arrived, they had checked out & it was arranged for them to stay at the Luxor hotel across town! We didn't want to be separated from them because of tour plans & Luxor didn't have room for us. We had to catch the bus to meet up w/them. Being new to Rome we missed the bus stop & were lost for a while, asking directions. Our room was nice w/minor problems but the a/c never cooled the room enough. Due to their neglecting to enter the confirmation #, this greatly inconvenienced the 4 of us!! The staff wasn't helpful, didn't care but when we wanted to contact our tour company to leave, the girl at the desk helped us call & get thru the Italian prompts on the phone menu for our van company. The breakfast was OK. None of our drivers seemed to know where this hotel was located. We had printed out directions from the website but they really didn't speak English & it was hard to communicate. We ended up paying $400 usd for 2 nights under aggrevating conditions!

Modern hotel with nice, friendly and clean rooms. Our room was reasonable size with a very large terasse. Quiet area, 10 min to Vatikan by walking. Somewhat difficult to find. Receptionist women are not really friendly and seem not to care. Not helpful. Big disappointment: small breakfest with everyday the same mortadella and eggs. But you could ask for cappucino-and get it.

A very pretty hotel, beautifully designed, very clean, with fantastic views and two roof terraces. The neighbourhood was extremely quiet, with no traffic noise, but close to a bustling litte market, two well-stocked supermarkets with deli counters, and great, cheap neighbourhood pizzeria (down the stairs, turn right at the bottom). Don't go to the one by the market - nowhere near as good. It's a short walk to the Vatican, which means a longer walk to anywhere else, but there are a variety of good buses from the main road (the 46 seems to go every 3 minutes into the centre of Rome; the 64 is less frequent, and will take you to Termini, the main train station.) You will need a taxi to get to the hotel, though. It's a steep walk up the hill from the nearest bus stop. Criticisms: the breakfast was generous but rather poor quality. Mortadella rather than ham; processed triangles instead of fresh cheese; no fruit at all. But lots of lovely pastries if that's your thing. And the 'orange juice' was disgusting: synthetic and bright orange. But the staff are lovely - and they will make a cappuccino for you if you ask. Fresh scrambled eggs are served around 8.00, so if you're a fan make sure you're there before they're all gone! Oh yes, the air conditioner didn't work. This didn't matter much when we were there, but check yours when you arrive before accepting the room!
