Only negative is that the hotel is a little hard to find. So enter the Termini and go to the right hand side of the building. Follow the tracks ALL THE WAY down to platrorms 25-29. When you reach the end of the Termini take a sharp right and go down the stairs exiting the station at the SPAR shop door.Go straight across the road keeping the rear of the SAS Radisson hotel on your left at the next junction take a left. The hotel is across the road on your right hand side. Hope this helps

Hotels in Rome tend to be rather indifferent at best, but Ambra is an honorable exception. The best hotel we know in Rome. Clean, new, friendly, and reasonably quiet, with sounproof windows. It is located in a somewhat seedy ethnic area, but hopefully it is safe. Unfortunately, the hotel hiked up its rates quite a bit this year.

We were particularly pleased with the attitude of the duty receptionist when we arrived, both with the allocation of rooms and giving us a rundown of the options for sightseeing in Rome. One point to note: The staff did not know about Gluten Free food (although they were very responsive) and there were no gluten free products available (eg bread). All of the breakfast cereals contained wheat, which contains gluten. It may be worth the hotels stocking wheat free breakfast cereals in future. This did not detract from our stay though.

Excellent service when arriving. Breakfast very good. Short distance to the train station. Use the gate nearby, then you don't need to go a long way to the airport-train. An evening trip in the area around the hotel with children is not reccomended.

The hotel and the staff at this hotel were lovely. Shame about the location. Not frightening, just a bit slummy. Breakfast good, but reastaurant facilities need to be improved. I wasvery disappointed by the standard of the Special Christmas Eve Menu. I thought it a waste of money! Also the reception staff were all very helpful, especially in getting a babysitter for my grandson on Christmas Eve, at very short notice. Would go back again if got a better deal on non standard rooms.

The stay at Ambra was very good - nice room and very good value considering the prices in Rome. Very good service and breakfast. To be recommended! The only negative comment I have is the location which is in a pretty rough area near the Termini station and I would recommend to use a taxi to/from the hotel in the evenings.

The hotel and staff were very good indeed. The location was good from a tourist perspective but the neighbourhood was quite dodgy. The hotel is located in a neighbourhood that is principally made up of Chinese and Indian or Pakistani vendors. The streets were not clean. Overall rating of the hotel is very good, neighbourhood not so good.

The hotel is located near the Termini, however the walk from the Termini Station is very long especially late at night when getting a bus is difficult. The A train closes at 9pm, which is closest to the hotel. The price for the hotel is very expensive based on location, room size, room ambiance, room very old looking with no updates such as old rug, old bathroom, old bed.
