Excellent location, Bus stops right outside Hotel. Hotel quiet and clean. Reception have an excellent city map. Bar and Restaurant no longer available within the Hotel, but plenty locally. Breakfast excellent, all staff were cheerful, helpful and informative. MiniBar and Airconditioning great, but no coffee making equipment in room. Note: Hotel has deal with Taxi company for pickup and dropoff to airports substantially less than airport taxies. i.e. 45 euro opposed to 70 euros (Ciampino).

The service in this hotel was excellent and extremely friendly, and the location was great for exploring the city on foot. Our room was small but clean and had everything we needed, including a balcony!

Good value for the money. Nice and helpful stuff. Very well located, near Vatican and at a ten minute walk from the famous piazzas. Just a remark; In case you travel by your car take into account that the hotel provides a closed parking garage in the vicinity, where I paid 30!!!! euros per night altough in the check-in time we had agreed to 20 euros.

A comfortable 3 star hotel that meet our expectations on all dimensions and exceeded them on a few. Great breakfast staff. Friendly and helpful front desk staff that really went out of their way to help my wife when she hurt her leg (walked us to a farmicia and interpreted, explained the doses and side effects, etc.) While I won't be back to Rome anytime soon, if I wanted to stay in the same price range I would certainly stay at The Diplomatic Hotel again.

Very Friendly people! Very willing to accomodate. Pretty easy walk from the subway. Bus stop right outside. Centrally located for us for the locations we wanted to hit (Vatican, Navona, Spanish Steps), a bit farther for ancient rome, but those are easily reached by public transportation. Nice, clean rooms/bathrooms. It's could be a little noisy at night from the street. Breakfast was good. They have one computer hooked up for internet access for free!! Had a great stay!

This hotel was advertised with a restaurant and a bar. Neither were in operation at the time of our visit and appeared to have that way for a considerable time. We booked here for the convenience of having these services available and paid accordingly. If we had known we would have booked somewhere else cheaper, or with these conveniences available.

No comfortable seating in the room. Shower fitting didn't work properly. Buffet breakfast needs major improvement - quality of food simply not good enough given this is Rome!

I thought this hotel was located near Piazza Popolo, in the historic area. A chain has purchased the hotel and has designated another hotel location as the Diplomatic. However, the current hotel is actually well located, midway between the Spanish Steps and the Vatican. It was an easy 10-20 minute walk to any historic area. The hotel itself is a 3 star, nice marble baths, decent furniture, very clean overall. The breakfast was good.
