Great location, nice and very clean hotel. Very friendly english speaking staff, help whenever you want. When we arrived, airconditioning was broken but it was not a problem for us. I think the price should be a bit lower.

This hotel is located right near the Roma Termini station. We are glad we took this hotel since we were traveling with a small kid and had luggage too. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were nice. Overall we enjoyed our stay there. Not to mention the nice shops, restaurants (Asian too) nearby.

I stayed there 1 weekend with my girlfriend. The hotel was quite good, clean, quiet, we didn't need more. The breakfast buffet was rather restricted, but enough, and the brioches (or croissants, or corneti) were fresh and quite excellent. The location is not very high class, but it's right next to the termini, which is very convenient, and we never felt threatened. The stuff at the reception speak good english...

Good hotel in convenient surroundings two blocks back from Termini. Minimarket next door and plenty of restaurants nearby. Quiet room, not over large but very clean with excellent bathroom. Air conditioning faulty in our first room but we were moved the second day. Breakfast good for Italy (fruit juices, cereals, yoghurt, 'ham', cheese, rolls, various delicious pastries). Breakfast room small. No bar although advertised. No problem with paying with credit card. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay there again. Stayed 6 nights this time.

We found the hotel ok for the price. The staff is VERY friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very generous, rolls, pastries, meat, cheese etc. We found a lot of small ants through our room which was kind of gross. THe hotel in general needs a big update - it feels very old. They tried hard though to please. The neighborhood is only seedy if you are between the train station and the hotel - the blocks in the opposite direction are fine, and it is only seedy at night. In general we found the location great and the hotel Ok. We would probalby find something a little nicer next time.

Cosy room with wood panelling, antique-like furniture and VERY quiet. Central, efficient airconditioning which can be regulated individually. Breakfast buffet with sausage, cheese and yoghurt. 5 minutes walk to Central Station (Termini). Bathroom needs some renovation. All in all a very good price/quality relationship!

An outstanding hotel - Serena lies within a minute or two from the train station and comfortable walking distance from most of Rome's leading attractions. The breakfast was decent, the room nice even if a bit small, and the bathroom perfect, including a modern shower and everything else I would consider necessary. Good value, but at night some of the streets to the north of the hotel can be a bit dodgy, though they are as far as I am aware quite safe.

My husband and I are teachers and were in Europe meeting with our college age children who were studying abroad. One of our children is hispanic and both of them were staying at the youth hostel. After we checked in and surrendered our passports, we went out to find our children and have lunch. When we returned to the room, the clerk at the counter would not let our adult children enter the building. Even after I explained that they had a room at another facility (thinking perhaps he thought they were sneaking into our room?). He continued to refuse to allow them to come up to the room where we had planned to have a glass of wine together and visit. We travelled all over Italy with these young adults and never were refused admission to our rooms with them. The clerk seemed to be especially concerned about our Hispanic "guest". I would have left this otherwise nice facility if he did not still have hold of our passports. This was a singularly racist event in an otherwise delightful tour of Italy.

The hotel located - as many in this part of Rome - on two floors of a huge apartment house. A minuscule single room, a bit dark since the only window was small as well and faced the courtyard - but that's the price you have to pay for being free from street noise. In fact the room was so well insulated against the external noise that I could hear a quiet conversation of my well-behaving American neighbours. The bathroom spotlessly clean, air-conditioning working very well, which is a relief during the hot Roman summer. Good breakfast buffet, which is important especially for those who haven't got used to Italian-style breakfast consisting mostly of coffee. A TV with CNN and MTV plus a generous offering of Italian channels. Friendly staff, you can store the luggage free of charge in the meantime between the check-out and the departure of your train/plane. The neighbourhood slightly seedy (as the case usually is with districts near railway stations) but I don't have any bad experiences. Overall I would recommend this hotel to people who like me have very little time (I was in Rome just 24 hours) and can't afford to waste this time on commuting. During longer stays the darkish room (with a very conspicuous hole in the net curtain) might prove just a bit depressive. If the central location and the proximity to the railway station are your priorities, then Serena provides a safe and clean option.

Hotel was within walking distance of many sites which was a plus. Only problem were the directions to the hotel- they said to go right onto the street where the hotel is located but it actually was left.

Good located because of connection to all railways and busses... We stayed 10 days. The aircondition did not work for one hour (more than 30+ Celsius in the night) and, this was simply terrible, an permanent really strong smell of the halal food kitchen in the first floor of the neighbor building. We changed room and floor, but this didn´t help at all because all the rooms have windows only to the kitchen area). Of course near the station it´s noisy all night, but this was part of the calculation. Though, good place for starting "per pedes apostolorum" to most og the important sites. Not cheap.
