Small single room, 5.5ft x 16ft, so small, but was very clean, and close to the Termini and metro

There is no correpondence between price and quality in totala aspects. In 12 visits to Europe this was the first oporttunity that I feel Iwas robbed paying 50 euros more per night against other hotels The rooms were dirty and with humidity and with bad smell coming from sewers

Overall it is an average hotel. It barely met expectations, and the shower was extremely small. Luckily we are slim people, but if you are not (or you are very tall), it would be problematic. It is very close to the train station and Trevi Fountain (10 minute walk).

I am an American who lives in Rome, but needed to be out of my apartment for a week. For a single person staying alone I recommend the Caravaggio. My room had a small terrace and plenty of space for my things, and it had clearly recently been renovated. There was one small thing, which was that the shower leaked water onto the bathroom floor in a very mysterious and peculiar way (when the shower was on there was a leak from another corner of the bathroom). The manager said that he would look into it. I imagine that it was a result of the room being brand new, as all of the rooms on my floor were. I have mentioned noise above, and although isolated from the street I could hear my neighbors snoring. It was very conveniently located in terms of where I needed to go, although the area is very touristy, and so it is hard to find quality/authentic food without a bit of a walk. I have compromised by putting an "8" for "surroundings" above, as I am well aware that someone who was actually a tourist might find the location more suited to their needs. All in all, I was very pleased with my stay at the Caravaggio, and I would stay there again.

OK location, very small, but clean room. Had expected more facilities in 3 stars hotel.

Hotel Caravaggio did not meet my standard. I do not consider it a hotel, but a B&B, because it's located in a residential building on the 2nd floor. I find the photographs on the web pages misleading.

Sir/Madam First I thought we had booked for three roooms, but was told on arrival that we had actually booked four. This is possible, and I did not check the confirmation sent out to me so I must assume some of the blame for this. Secondly, there was a dirty ashtray left in our room. Not major I know, but you don't expect to see it in a "fresh" room. Thirdly, there was no remote control for the TV in our room. Dissapointing, but not crucial. Fourthly, the hotel did not take credit cards. As I booked and reserved the rooms via the internet and a credit card number was taken as surety I was most upset to know that when I came to pay the bill I then had to go back in to the streets to find a bank from which I could withdraw 640 Euros. A good job my bank is understanding. Fifth, on entering the shower parts of the door frame fell off. I was assured it was fixed but the same thing kept happening. Sixthly only two of the five light bulbs worked. These were replaced in short order. We were told by the concierge that they would try to let the "overbooked" room during the weekend so that we would not have to pay for it. On the evening of our arrival I overheard one of the newly arrived guests announce that they had come for the "cancelled" room. On checking out we were still charged for the extra room. As we were then asked to pay in cash it was suspicious. I have no proof and I am not making any allegations but looking at it from an objective point of view it does appear to raise questions. In all the hotel is OK, small rooms and small dining area and it is on the first floor so there is a flight of steps to contend with each visit or a small cranky lift that accommodates 1 person and a suitcase. Otherwise be prepared to get some exercise!

The web site description of this hotel, in relation to the actual property is false! It appeared to be a hostel, a bad hostel! There is no lobby, no dining, no wine store, nothing!! Disgusting dirty old men who were pretending to run what they call a hotel! We stayed one night in our cigarette burned bed and left as fast as we could the very next morning and found other accomodations. This is the first time we used Venere.com and will promise to never do so again. Please remove this hotel from your website, It would be a great shame if anyone else should travel to such a beautiful city such as Rome to be subjected to this place!

The hotel was fine. It is more like a home-hotel than a real hotel. You have to leave the key when you go out, but there is always someone to open the front door even late. The rooms are not super big, but it's Rome and everything is small there, so no surprise. The hotel was clean. The rooms are fairly quiet as it is not on a very busy street, but you can hear outside and even the neighbors, but it was not an issue for us.

I found it very strange that there we not any tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Also, there was a loud rumbling noise coming from the above residence in the early evening and first thing in the morning that kept us awake and also woke us early.
