The modern apartments of the Borgo Pio 2000 Hotel are located away from the busiest streets, in Rome's oldest and most typical neighborhood. The Vatican is only 300 meters (330 yards ) away, and you can also visit the Coliseum and the Spanish Steps, only 1 km (0.5 mile ) away. The hotel's multilingual staff is always at hand to offer advice and assistance.
The five-storey Borgo Pio 2000 Hotel has 45 simply decorated apartments, with tiled flooring and light-colored wood furnishings. All offer kitchenette facilities, a refrigerator, toiletry items and Internet access. Apartments can be rented either for a few days or several months. While the hotel does not have its own restaurant, a number of dining options are available nearby.
This exclusive residence is located a few hundred meters from subway and bus stations, as well as the city's main tourist attractions and business sites. The Borgo Pio 2000 Hotel is only a 10-minute walk from downtown Rome (and the Via Condotti, the Spanish Steps, and Piazza del Popolo), and a 3-minute walk from St. Peter's Basilica and Vatican City.

These are VERY spacious apartments with high ceilings, so you feel like you are in a home not a rental apartment. The amenities are basic, nothing extravagant, however, the size really makes a difference if you are staying for more than a couple of days. The full kitchen is nice if you want to cook some meals. The location is OUTSTANDING, perhaps the best in all of Rome for the price. Just around the corner is the pedestrian only street, Borgo Pio, which is full of outdoor cafes, restaurants and pizzarias. Our favorite Pizzaria is "Pizza Rustica" right at the corner behind the hotel. Staff is mulitlingual and VERY helpful. Elisabetta and Lori were wonderful hosts -- very pleasant and knowledgable. The only thing one should be aware of is that this hotel does NOT have a full time reception. If you arrive after 8pm, they will leave the key for you on the table at the entrance and you will be charged 30 Euros for late arrival. Other than that, this is an excellent hotel in a GREAT location for the price. The ONLY problem we encountered was the fact that they were building a rooftop breakfast/viewing area while we were there and there was a lot of noise during the day, but we would leave by 8am when they started and return after 5pm when they finished. We were there at the end of June 2007. As long as they have finished that large scale construction, then this hotel should be very quiet.

We did not stay at the main building so i can not comment on it. When we arrived at the hotel we are told that there is no apartment available in the main building, so we have to stay in an apartment a block a way. While the apartment was bigger than what we expected, it was located on realy noisy and busy street, which made sleeping imposible.If you consider staying at Borgo Pio you have to make sure that you stay in the main building which is located on much smaller and quieter street.

An Excellent holiday throughout, apartment was more than adequate and most italians are friendly and welcoming. Definately recommend the apartments and Rome.
