Housed in a beautiful 17th century building that once belonged to the Saint Agnes Monastery, the Casa Marcello Hotel brings together the charm of the past and the comfort of its modern facilities. Located in the heart of the old town, this 4-star establishment is the ideal starting point for discovering Prague and all its treasures.
The 32 rooms are individually decorated with a mix of antiques and modern furniture for a cosy and homey feel. All are quite large (from 30 to 50 m2 depending on the category) and are equipped with and Internet connection and satellite television. After a long day of walking the streets of Prague, relax in the sauna in the wellness centre and try out the delcious dishes in the excellent hotel restaurant.
The Casa Marcello Hotel is centrally located in the old town, not far from Wenceslas Square, the renowned Charles Bridge or Mala Strana, known as the "pearl of baroque architecture" housing dozens of rococo and baroque palaces. St Nicholas Church and Stahov Convent are also in this area. The City Hall and the Astronomical Clock are other rmust-sees.
The history of this first Gothic building in Prague dates back to the 13th century, when it was constructed as part of the St. Agnes monastery.

The hotel is in a wonderful position, but our allocated room had no bath and the bathroom was not luxurious as advertised. We spoke at reception who changed us the next day for a brilliant room at no extra cost which had a sitting room and two bathroom areas! No complaints at all.

The hotel is poor value for money. The breakfast room is too small for all guests. The only drink which we could get in the hotel after 11pm was coffee. Our room was noisy over the entrance, the staff were extremely helpful when we moved to a new room which was excellent. The hotel is ideally situated, no need for taxis or trams, as everywhere is within walking distance, some excellent bars, restaurants nearby. There was no airconditioning All the staff were very polite, friendly and helpful.

Convenient location 10 minutes walk from the Old Town Square. We had a room which was tiny with a rock hard bed and got changed to a better one. The housekeeping was neglible - towels were changed daily but no cleaning was done and stairs and corridors were dusty and cobwebby. Not enough breakfast tables for the number of guests waiting and the service was amateur. The staff were polite but not very helpful. More 3 star than 4 star but could be lovely with better housekeeping and staff training.

The staff at the hotel were particularly warm and welcoming. We would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. The room was spacious and had all that we needed for a comfortable stay. Delightful.

Marcello has everything going for it, great location, history, charachter and ambience,but two things let it down: The size of the bedrooms. They are just too compact. The breakfast room is wholly inadequate as there are only 4 tables available. They should really use the main restaurant for breakfast as well.
