The Best Western Meteor Plaza was originally a former inn for guests who arrived after the Powder Gate, once the entrance to the city, had closed. This establishment is located in the centre of Prague, and offers its guests a number of excellent services and amenities, creating a seamless combination of modern conveniences and an epoch setting.The guestrooms are modestly decorated in a contemporary syle, and are equipped with air-conditioning, wireless Internet access and satellite television. One of the rooms also includes a piano. The marvellous 14th century vaulted wine cellar houses a relaxation centre with a sauna and whirlpool, a romantic restaurant and a meeting room.The Best Western Meteor Plaza has a wonderful central location in Prague, just a few minutes from the Powder Tower, the Hibernia Palace, the Royal Way and Municipal House. The famous Wenceslas Square, Old Town Square, the charming Charles Bridge and the Mala Strana district can all be easily reached by foot.
First references to this hotel come from the year 1307. This house was called „White Lion” and was known as a retreat for travellers, who came to city in the late evenings hours without the possibility to enter the city through the city gate (The Powder Gate), as this gate used to be closed every day at dusk.

I would not recommend this hotel at all. The staff on reception were unbelievaby rude and unhelpful. The restaurant staff were very good but the food was poor. Extortionate phone bill and when I queried it they could not produce a tariff - none in the room either. Minibar prices also excessive. Only stay here if money no object and you don't mind paying over the odds

I have stayed here twice on trips to Prague. Pleasant hotel. Rooms fine, good size, bathroom spotless. Very good location, close to Old Town Square, main shopping areas etc. Good value for location and facilities.

Beautiful city and the hotel extremely well placed to see all major attractions. Staff very helpful booking trips. Advise anyone to sightsee in afternoon to avoid morning rush of large groups. Breakfast lovely and plenty of it. Only disappointment was no swimming pool as advertised, just large whirlpool. Location and pool were our priorities when booking.

An excellent hotel - the choice at breakfast is superb. However, service in the Wine Restaurant was very slow on an uncrowded Saturday evening, although the food was excellent - when it finally arrived!

Very well situated. Only a few minutes walk from Old Town Square and Wenceslas Sq. Right by main shopping street. Unfortunately there was some construction work going on during our stay, but otherwise we were looked after!
