Absolutely fantastic service. Really friendly and helpful. When my travelling campanion was ill, they were really compassionate and caring - real, genuine, heartfelt customer service. I would warmly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Our stay in Portugal was marred by a misunderstanding (lack of useful information) about how much it would cost to get a small bag (1 kg) of laundry done while we traveled to Lisbon. No one could tell us how much it would cost but we assumed it couldn't be much more than 5-10 Euros. It turned out to cost us 50 Euros ($75 Canadian) - as much as we paid to stay for the night. No amount of animated protest would change the manager's mind, and we paid - though under duress of missing our flight home. I won't be back anytime soon. It's a good place to stay and the staff are great - I'm just angry - still.

Nice and clean hotel with adequate breakfast. Near metro (useful if coming from airport) and main shopping street. A little further from river (15 mins) and nightlife but not bad if you don't mind walking some hills. Would recommend!

This hotel is in the style of the early 1900s - spotlessly clean, very well looked after and not spoiled by renovation. The staff were most obliging, attentive and willing with lots of useful advice. About 15 minutes stroll downhill to the river, mostly through the pedestrianised shopping area and 5 minutes from the daily enclosed market. A taxi ride home from the river was €3.50 (June 2005). For the price, you'll not be dissapointed in this hotel.
