Pool developed a fault, pump was not puryfing water, but hotel let us use pool for three days before closing the pool, and told us the pool had been closed because of the bad weather, we only found out the truth because we speak fluent italian and asked the pool maintenance why the pool had been closed. Pool was then closed for three days. New arrivees were given discounts because the pool was unavailable but we were not offered any discount. We were not allowed into the resturant at any time for an evening meal , even when it was pouring down with rain, but had to eat under canopies in the garden. no explaination given. Booked the hotel because it was a Best Western that I have used all over the world, but found out Best Western had dropped this hotel from their listings. Will not be using that hotel again, and expect the same discount given to all other residents because the pool was un available,

The hotel is dingy, the rooms dark and cold and smell damp. The bar does not open till 19.30 and so cannot get a drink or something to eat till then. It is a long distance to central Pisa. The pool is unsuitable for small children. I appreciate that this is primarily a business hotel, but I would not choose it either for business or for pleasure. It is certainly not worth the 5 stars it is given. Staff are friendly and helpful.

out of town location - beware trying to find taxis in Pisa to take you back on an evening. The whole place is very dated. Layout is more akin to a motel. Rooms are very dated too, ours had mould in the bedroom and cobwebs across the ceiling. Pool is a good size though needs a refurb. All in all I would recommend that you find another hotel than this - don't be fooled by it's 4* Status it's more like Bates Motel

The rooms were very clean and were kept to a very high standard during our stay, The maid deserves a gold star. Taxi service to hotel is appalling - the hotel was unable to get one at 4.45 am to get us to the airport on time!

Pretty basic motel type, OK for an overnight stop but wouldn't want to stay there any longer, quite handy for the airport if you can decipher their directions - need sat nav!!

except of the hotel perfect location we didnt enjoyed our stay there the room was too small the heat was hardly working ( it was really cold & unpleasant stay ) far below best westren hotel accommodation & the price was too high another words we really had a tough night there NOT Recommended

I was a bit disappointed when I saw the hotel. No typical Tuscan style, rooms were clean and had airconditioning, but were very basic. Breakfast was a bit tasteless.

I was in doubt about a 5* next to the beach or a 3* at city. I thought California P Hotel would be a good option as it didn't seem too far from the city and it's a 4* with good facilities. What a bad choice! The swimming pool was closed and they just laughed when I said that was one of the reasons of my choice. Location is terrible, in the end of a very dark and high speedy road with no walking path! There are buses to city every 10-15min but the service finishes at 20ish which means a very dangerous walk back. The service was awful, 1 example from many: I asked how to get to the beach and the receptionist said: there're buses every hour. I: when?on the hour, 15 past etc. He: every hour. So I said I didn’t want to wait for 1 hour at the bus stop and I would appreciate if he could check the timetable. He looked at the paper for a long time and said:every hour. So I looked at the paper and asked, pointing the list of the bus stops and times, where are we? His answer: ‘We are in Pisa’…

The hotel is situated 3 miles from Pisa, very quiet and relaxed. good location, bathroom was small and compact but clean and functional. Bedding and towels changed every day, reception staff were excellent and spoke good english, breakfast was very good. Bus service into Pisa was every 15 minutes but stopped after 8pm was very cheap and travelled around town and airport. Tickets can be purchased from news paper kiosk opposite bus stop 200m towards town from hotel. Excellent mini break, excellent hotel.

Ideal to stop over for the odd night, but not as we did by staying for 7 nights. Facilities were very limited - we could not get a drink during the day until the bar opened at 6.00 pm. Not enough chairs around a rather dirty looking pool. Impossible to walk to any other restaurant during the evening. Restaurant on site was good but a little on the pricey side. Staff tried hard and were helpful whenever they could be. Rooms and bathrooms were on the tight side.

Within walking distance to the bus service which runs more or less every 10 mins. Maybe a british film channel could be added to their Tv system or a list in the room of entertainment venues for the evening.
