.Only 75 metres to field of miracles(tower complex). Quiet street at night, mainly due to efficient double glazing. Hotel a little tiredand in need of some updating and brightening up.Hotel room basic, comfortable, reasonably quiet,tiled bathroom, plenty of hot water. Lifts work well. Bar expensive(15 euros for a small beer and a white wine). Continental breakfast was disappointing(didnt even look appetising). Dont expect a good cup of tea at breakfast, its watery, weak,and probably the worst brew I have had for several years. Reception staff helpful, city map available at desk. Be prepared to wait for a lengthy period for taxis to turn up at local taxi ranks. Good local bus services. Very good rail system--dont forget to validate your rail ticket before boarding trains(my wife and I were fined 10 euros by the train ticket inspector en route to florence). Would I use this hotel again?--yes, but only for short breaks.

The hotel is literally a 2-min walk away from the leaning tower and campo dei fiori. The hotel is rather old and needs some cleaning up, but the location is great and service is appropriate. Due to its condition, I would say it is a three star hotel. The breakfast is very basic but sufficient. For the 96 euros a night I paid for a double room (beware: shower only, no bath), I would stay there again.

The location is perfect, very close to the Leaning Tower. The rooms were very small. Breaksfast was apalling. I am used to European breakfasts with rolls and cold meats but the quality was bad - even the apples were all dry and shrivelled. We couldn't believe that the hotel had a 4 star rating.

Comfortable, spacious old-style hotel with fairly modern facilities and nice staff. TERRIBLE coffee and phony orange juice at breakfast but lots of fresh fruit and good buffet.

Was probably once a fairly smart hotel... in the 1970s! Badly needs updating but the location, just a short walk to the tower was a redeeming feature. The kitsch feel was kind of funny and the room was a good size but everything was a bit tatty and gloomy. Bed made our backs ache as we just both rolled into the middle!

This is without a doubt the worst 4 Star Hotel that I have ever stayed in! The rooms were dark, dingy, tiny and filthy. We refused to stay in the first room we were allocated which was dark and dingy and had a view of a wall - which was about a foot away from our window! We were then allocated another room, which was marginally larger and at least had a view - that is if you get the plastic shutter that covered the window to actually stay up. The ceiling in the hallway had a hole in it, through which you could see filthy pipes and daylight - stuff of nightmares! Oh and I know the Italians aren't famed for breakfast but the wrinkled ham, stale bread and undrinkable tea and coffee were a new low! Please, please take our advice and don't stay here!

The Grand Duomo was nothing more or nothing less than I expected, having read in my guide that it had seen better times. The bathroom badly needed refitting but it was clean, and the whole place had a run-down feel but the staff were pleasant enough and the location is superb, just meters away from the famous tower. Nothing really special but handy for a short stay in Pisa.

A 'grand' hotel, showing it's age...but in a perfect location for the Field of Miracles, staff very helpful, hotel clean....service was good, but breakfast was poor.....fine for a couple of nights.

Nothing specially ''grand'' and rather 3 than 4-star level, but a good hotel for a short stay in Pisa, very well located near main places of interests and restaurants. We combined a short stay there with a longer stay in its sister-hotel (same owner) Grand Hotel Golf in Tirrenia, 30 mins. by bus from Pisa, and liked it very much (relaxing forest-like location 10 mins. walking from restaurants and the beach!)

A good Hotel for a short break. breakfast could be better presented, and coffee improved, and heated. Would return, and reccommend.
