Quite frustrated that the two rooms I booked were on different levels. The air con didn't work in one of the rooms, yet maintenance assured us that it did. They gave us a fan. Why would you need a fan if the air con worked????

I arrived in the early hours from an international flight only to find that they had let my room to someone else - despite being advised of my late arrival. The manager seemed to think he was doing me a favour by putting me into an ancient suite for the night. The sheets on the bed were not changed once in the five nights I stayed. Some days towels appeared some days not. And if if you do stay here please DO NOT look under the beds - I dropped a dollar and it rolled under - I decided to leave it where it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My bed wasn't clean up each day. I did it by myself. Also my room although i did not made a mess was not vacumed.

To be charged $58.00 for 3 people to have a couple of pieces of toast and vegemite and a glass or two of orange juice each was just a little over the top. Would have though for the room price that breakfast might have been included, continental anyway.

This hotel has run down facilities and is overpriced for the service provided. The rooms have a 1870s feel about them. Staff are not particularly helpful, prefering to attend to administrative tasks than to serve you at reception.

Prior to Citigate takeover it was a good all round hotel. New Citigate staff were inexperienced, and my requested preferences at time of booking, ie. high floor, smoking room, were approved at time of booking, but ignored on arrival. One day, the room had not been serviced by 4:30 PM, so I had to do it myself.

It's well located near majoy shopping belt, 'china town' and CBD area. Breakfast wise is average, will be the same thru' out. Not much of a varieties. There's a souvenirs shop just a street away behind the hotel..like the nougats at a cheaper price.

Not right in the centre but close enough to be handy for Hay Street, Cat service (free) and the jetty to Fremantel.

The hotel is centrally located but the rooms have not been modernised for several years. This is a drawback to an otherwise decent hotel.

Really , should we have to pay for the parking .that was just too bad . And fancy the bar shutting on sundays ,we were a long way from the centre of town and really not in a very nice part of Perth. So on our return to Perth we booked int a great hotel O'Sullivens . Also had a meal in the hotel which was poor, so will not use this hotel again.

Reception staff have an abominable attitude - like it was a bother to have to deal with paying guests all I could feel was 'oh no its a customer'. Would not stay there again EVER. Also we specifically indicated on hotel club booking that we needed to check in at 9am after 36 hours flying but surprise surprise the room was not ready. So whose fault this is- Hotel Chancellor or Hotelclub.net - I am sure I will never know. Melbourne branch also has same horrible attitude so won't be booking with HGC anywhere ever again.

Great service, we even extended our stay. Very convenient location just across the bridge to Northbridge and access to CAT/train services. Room service food was not good and overpriced but overall a good hotel.
