Excellent value for money and good location. We had booked a superior room and asked that it was non smoking though. It was neither and the hotel was fully booked. Reception provided air fresheners but smell was impossible to mask. However, other room was fine.And couldn't have found better for location and price.

The location was very good with great street stores on a sunday selling fantastic food. The room was ok size wize, but it just seemed dirty. This was off putting as I didn't want to touch anything. The shower spilled stright out onto the bathroom floor which created a flood in the bathroom. The balcony was very charming.

We had a room with a balcony and a view to the Tour Eiffel in the distance. Though the rooms were not very soundproofed they were comfortable and a good size. The Metro was close and easy to reach all the main attractions.

On the first day we found out that the room we reserved was not available. We spent the night on a different hotel (Corona Opera), in one of the most dirty and ugly rooms that I ever saw in my life. The dust in the corners was so much that you couldn't scratch it away. On the second day they gave us a room (a standard, smokers room, we booked a superior non-smokers one). When we arrived again, the room was not yet ready, so they let us leave our luggage in a public area saying they would have taken them in the room once ready. We stayed away all the day, and when we came back, past midnight, our luggage were still in the public area and we had to take them to the room by ourselves. The room was incredibly dirty. The last day (the fifth) I looked under the bed to make sure that we weren't forgetting anything and I found an empty water bottle that did not belong to us!!! When we left, they tried to make us pay a superior room instead of a standard one! Moreover, the staff were very unpolite and they blamed the travel agencies saying that they use to send them more customers than they can receive. I can't believe this is a 3 star hotel; in Italy it would barely deserve 1. And I didn't mention all the problems (there was a hole in the ceiling, one of the wardrobe shutters was broken and it had been put in a corner of the room instead of fixing it, the towels were full of holes and many more "details" like these ones). The room was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from the pictures on the web, be careful. Please note that Venere is not to blame for these problems, we booked other hotels on this site and all was wonderful (for example, see our review for Domus Florentiae, Florence, Italy) Il primo giorno, nonostante la prenotazione, la stanza non era disponibile. Ci hanno sistemati in un altro albergo nelle vicinanze (Corona Opera), in una delle stanze più sporche e più brutte che abbia mai visto. La polvere negli angoli era così vecchia da non poterla grattare via in alcun modo.

we didn't receive a confirmation from the hotel which was disconcerting. The 1st room we were allocated was small and there was a lot of traffic noise, when we requested a quieter room we were given a much bigger, nicer room and also much quieter. The location is quite good about 10 minutes walk from the Opera and the stop for the red hop on/off bus. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. A very enjoyable stay!
