This is a small hotel but very good for a short city break. Rooms are not large but are clean and comfortable. bathrooms are a little small. We were impressed with the location which is handy for the metro enabling you to get around all the main sights. Great double glazing - despite being next to Place de la Republique we heard no noise at night. This was our second stay and we will use this hotel again.

Central location with good transport connections. Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable, recently refurbished rooms. Breakfast is an expensive 'extra'.

The hotel was in a good location and the rooms were quite a good size. There was a distinct smell of soap/cleaning products in the rooms though - but perhaps that's a good thing? Would recommend for a short stay in Paris!

Great location. Clean rooms with plenty of room for suitcases, etc. There was room furniture (a desk, a chair) that you could actually use if you wanted to and the beds were confortable. A nice deep bathtub. The staff was courteous and friendly. They put us in a room with one bed initially (we were two friends, travelling together) and switched us to a room with two beds without fuss. The Hotel is right off Place de la Republique so some rooms could be potentially noisy (traffic, street noise, etc.) but our room was up and in the back so that wasn't a problem. Breakfast was not included but could be had for 8 Euro--a little pricey, I thought, but that seems to be the going rate at 2 and 3 star hotels. The room price was very good for Paris though.

To ensure quieter rooms we requested rooms on 5th floor, but given 1st floor (we have 4 kids). Room very noisy with no cooling fan - we cooked at night with the windows shut. Requested and paid for a double, but were given a twin. Beds were so small that our feet hung over the edge. Rooms were tiny and not like Inet photos. No tea and coffee facility in rooms. Manager was unhelpful to the point of being rude. Hotel was clean and rooms serviced daily. Would avoid this hotel when next in Paris.

The Meslay is a delightfully quaint and charming hotel less than a minute away from the Metro (Republique). The staff all speak excellent English and are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast (included in the very reasonable rates) is great and the hotel is also 'child' friendly. It sells tickets to 'Euro Disney' which saves a great deal of time! There are a number of restaurants and bars nearby.

Would very happily come back again. The Hotel is very close to the Metro & also to local Supermarkets. Immediate Restaurants not the best - but not too difficult to go elsewhere. Hotel Staff extremely helpful.

Superb, clean and well priced hotel . Always a pleasure to stay there . Ten minutes from the city centre by metro, but in a busy area with plenty of choices to eat and drink . Hotel staff are helpful, rooms always clean and the breakfast service is fast in a spotless basement room.

Overall a good experience. Very small room, but adequate if you're just using it as a place to sleep. Clean hotel, very friendly kitchen staff, and front desk staff helpful with good command of English. We were charged an extra 10 euro per night, though, for our infant child even though we provided the travel crib...only downside.
