Just stayed there for a weekend, 3 nights, good location to the rear of the Eiffel Tower, rooms small but excellent decor & clean, staff helpful & freindly. Room has a Mini bar and hotel has a limited menu. Many good local restaurants & cafes for all tastes, plenty of Taxi's, buses & river boats to see all the sights next to the Tower. Would 100% stay here again for a short break, any longer and a larger hotel with more facilities would be recommended.
My husband booked 5 nights at Le Marquis as a treat and as always he checked it up on Tripadvisor. The ratings were very good but I have to say that at 300euro a night it was not worth the money. Our roomRead more was supposed to be a Deluxe double (403) but I still fail to see what made the room deluxe. It was a very small and very basic room with the smallest ensuite I have ever seen. I cannot understand why it is a 4 star hotel!
The staff never acknowledged us when we passed and no effort was made to help me with my bags even though I was 25 weeks pregnant. I certainly would not return to this hotel. However, this is a beautiful area of paris and the Bakers on the corner is not to be missed.
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights after arriving on the Metro from the Eurostar. It was abit of a walk from the Metro to the hotel but if you're of a happy nature it shouldn't spoil anything! Its alsoRead more was in a residential area so was quiet with a nice square and park just 1 minute away.
The hotel is charming and small but perfectly formed. We had a room facing the street so got lots of light and could even see the top of the Eiffel Tower which gave us a thrill. The bed was lovely and comfy and the overall decor modern and chic. Our room has a sloping wall which could have made it seem small but it was fine. There was plenty of closet space and even though the bathroom was tiny it had everything you could need from one.
Breaklfast was continental and I guess we were too lazy (sore feet more like) to walk to the nearby cafes instead. It is a small space so minimal conversation as everyone was practically sharing a table but that's the french way!
There is a sister hotel about 10mins walk away which we'll probably check out next time, but this hotel was great for a few nights.
It's ideally located for the tourist spots and the river but more of a long leisurely walk to Notre Dame area and I think its quite a hidden gem and popular with decerning travellers young and old.
Had a great stay in this small but smart hotel. The location is great for accessing the Eiffel tower especially at night on our way home from a meal and drinks. Rooms were compact but very comfortable and clean, staff very helpful.
We stayed 5 nights in late August. Loved the location, in a residential area near the Eiffel Tower. The metro station was just around the corner, and since three metro lines intersect here, it was quiteRead more convenient to get anywhere in the city. There are also several convenient bus lines nearby.
We booked a "deluxe" room and it was quite nice, but we found it to be really small, and were glad we had not booked a standard room. There were, however, two good-sized closets so we were able to store everything without tripping over the luggage. The bathroom is nice and a decent size, although some additional hooks to hang clothes would be welcome, since there is very little counter space.
Our room looked out over an interior courtyard, so we were not bothered by any traffic or other noise outside the hotel at night. Our room was adjacent to the elevator and that was only a problem one night, when some very loud guests returned at 3 am and woke us when returning to their room.
We did not eat breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast we had the first morning at Brasserie Le Suffren at the corner of Ave. Suffren and Ave. de la Motte-Picquet was so delicious (and much less expensive) that we returned every morning to eat there.
Overall we had a great stay at this hotel. We have stayed in quite a few 3-star hotels in Paris, and although the Marquis is very nice and classified as a 4-star hotel, we would not pay significantly more than the rate at our favorite 3-star to stay at this hotel again. It was fairly comparable in terms of room quality.
We had no complaints about the service at the hotel; everyone we spoke with was helpful and friendly. Overall a very good experience.
After a long walk in the rain with heavy suitcases due to repairs on the 6 train, and a confused bus ride, we finally made it to Le Marquis where we found a very helpful, appeasing staff, a clean, nicelyRead more decorated room, and a warm dry resting place. This is a very nice little hotel and my boyfriend and I were very impressed with their energy-saver tactics. The breakfast isn't included in the price of the room, but it is worth it compared to the prices, service and quality you might get at one of the touristy restaurants nearby. There is someone at the front desk 24 hours and they are friendly and accomodating. I really loved this hotel and I would definately recommend it to anyone!
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It is in an excellent location for visiting the Eiffel Tower (two roads away). There are restaurants and cafes within 5 minutes walk and the area seemed quite safe.Read more If you arrive by car from the north using Navman then beware - it will take your round the infamous Arc de Triomphe roundabout, which was an experience in itself.
The hotel is quite small but prettily decorated with a nice atmosphere - I especially liked the pale pink drapes in the foyer. We had a classic room, which was nice but rather dark due to both the decor and interior lighting and the fact that it looked out onto the back courtyard and so didn't get much natural light. We got a glance at a slightly bigger room from the corridor which we assumed was a superior classic and this seemed a better size and overlooked the street so it got more light. The bathroom had small Occitane products in it, which smelled lovely.
The staff were all very friendly, despite it being quite busy when we arrived. We made use of the underground garage, which is part of the small supermarket garage across the street and is 15 euro a day. If you arrive on a sunday when the supermarket is closed they give you an access card - but beware the lights in there don't stay on long!!
The breakfast room is quite small and at first there does not appear to be much, but all the usual stuff such as cheeses, meats, eggs, croissants, cereal, yogurt, coffee, juice and fruit, were there dotted about the room. Having said this it was expensive for what it was and cheaper to go to a nearby cafe.
We spent three wonderful days in Paris, thus two nights at the Hotel le Marquis. The hotel is situated within walking distance of many attractions in the central part of Paris. Our room was small, but very comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful, both when we arrived and during our stay. We will definitely return both to Paris and to the hotel in the future,
My first stay in Paris and selected this hotel using this site.I would agree with the general reviews of this hotel its modern, well run and in my opinion in a fantastic position 5 minute walk to the EiffelRead more tower,5 minutes to nearest Metro.I booked the superior room and although it was compact it was more than adequate for my 4 day stay. The staff were professional and courteous. The check in and out very quick.I would definitely recommend this hotel for your stay.I booked a couple of meals at Restaraunts using reviews on this site and was dissapointed with L`Esquisse around the corner from the hotel, the steak was tough as old boots and as it was apparent when the waitress took away my plate with virtually the whole steak still there and I explained why I couldnt eat it, no apology was forthcoming,I tried Bistro Suffren across the road which was far better.
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights from the 2 July - 5 July. We booked a superior room, and totally loved our stay. The hotel is in a great location, a few minutes from 2 metro stations and access to quite a few metro lines. It's very close to the Eiffel tower and the area has a real Parisian ambience.
Supermarket across the road was extremely convenient, where we bought bottled water, cheese from the cheese counter and various meats. We ate these with the fresh bread we bought from the local boulangeries! There is one bakery on the corner of the street next to a Rotisserie where you can buy roast chicken. These were unfortunately closed during our stay, but we found a lovely little boulangerie on ''Le Suffren'' which we enjoyed so much, we returned twice!
The hotel staff were generally friendly and helpful. One gentleman went out of his way to recommend areas to eat and his suggestions were very helpful!
Only 1 or 2 minor things they can improve. Our room had a slight cigarette smell of which we complained about as soon as we arrived. It was a non-smoking room so the staff were unsure where the smell came from. There were no other rooms available so they sprayed air freshener in it. The smell didn't really bother us as you stop noticing it after a while, but it was noticeable every time we returned to the room.
Apart from an annoying air conditioning unit with unclear controls - our stay was lovely, and would definitely return.
