Des 3 Poussins

Thought this hotel was great. It was clean and comfortable, tastefully decorated, the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were a good size and it had a little courtyard garden.

The hotel is in a fantastic location for the eurostar and the rest of Paris generally. There are a number of quality bars and restaurants in the immediate area and it is not too touristy. About 5 minutes walk away is the red light district with the Moulin Rouge and some lively bars and whatever else a red light district provides! If that is not to your taste, the red light area does not overspill into the area the hotel is in, which is fairly quiet and feels very safe. There is also the Sacre Coeur church a short walk away with amazing views over Paris. The hotel location is also very handy for the Metro and is about 15- 20 minutes from the main tourist attractions of Paris.

I would definity return to this hotel and it is excellent for the price range.

I booked a room at Les trois Pouissants after having read all the positive rewievs on this website, but i can't help wondering if i have stayed at at different hotel, because i wasn't impressed. I agreeRead more that the location was good - close to the Metro, and with several restaurants nearby. The room was small, but clean. On the pluss side - there was a fridge. There were no chairs in our room - and the bed.....well maybe the root of all my reservations lies here, because the bed was terrible !! We stayed there for 4 nights - and i didn't have one good night sleep. The last night i spent half the night on the floor - it was softer than the bed. The room, the corridors and stairway seemed rundown. The lift really was tiny. Two persons and a suitcase and the lift was full.
Breakfast was ok, but not more. It costs 10 euro - and you can get a better deal if you choose to eat at a cafe.

There was a great, little foodstore on the way from the metro to the hotel - we stopped there twice a day, bought some fruit and something to drink. The owner always took his time to talk to us, he told us what the weather was going to be like - and he gave us tips on where to eat etc.

The hotel is ok - but judging from our room it is more of a 2 star hotel than a 3 star hotel.

We booked this hotel online for a bargain price (30% discount) and it was just about right for the money we paid. The original price of 155 euros for the room is way too much in my opinion.
The room wasRead more in the semi-top floor and was a bit like an attic (I guess you wouldn't expect the best room if you book with a discount..), it was a normal size for Paris, had a good furniture, the usual shower room, flat-screen TV (CNN, BBC and a few French channels), powerful aircon (turned itself off at midnight). The room had a bit of wear and tear and there were some gaps in tiles in the shower room. The walls are indeed thin, we could hear our neighbours talking at night and coming in and out of the rooms.
Bed linen was changed once for 7 nights of our stay.
There was a fridge and an oven there - which is great if you want to save money on food!
The street is tucked away from the city hassle but there were many noisy motorbikes passing by and the building next door was renovated with the works starting at 8am. There are many shops, bakeries around the corner to get breakfast wine and cheese from.
Night porters are much nicer than ladies during daytime - they were obviously not too happy to see us.

The hotel is close to the metro station the bars and resturants can be expensive but the 3 poussins hotel in Paris have fridges in their room and if you want to save money turn right outside the Hotel then left at the end of the street and up on the right after a 5 minute walk is the Champion supermarket where everything is very cheap.The people are very friendly and the sights were amazing

I stayed at this hotel for a surprise birthday weekend. I have visited Paris a number of times before but this was my first time staying there in a hotel. We arrived early at the hotel, which was easy to find and close to a nearby metro station which is very convenient when you are travelling to Paris by Eurostar. The lobby/front desk area was clean and modern and staff spoke both English and French which was handy. As we were early we couldn’t yet check in but our bags were taken and we were told we could come back early afternoon as our room would be ready then. This gave us a few moments to rest and to get some lunch.

Our room was ready shortly after we returned to the hotel after lunch. We were on the first floor facing the street. I guess there were two negatives to this stay which we noticed fairly quickly. One was the lift; it was noisy, small and jumpy. Secondly was the noise, on our first night there was quite a bit of street noise, also in the morning the lift was noise as the hotel was being cleaned. I’d imagine this was less of a problem with a rear facing and/or higher room. However, the second night there was hardly any noise so perhaps the first night we were just unlucky. Although small the room was comfortable and on the whole well laid out. The bathroom was spotlessly clean but a little cramped for two though shower gel, shampoo and the like were provided.

We did not use the hotel for breakfast but we did order some coffees which were ready when promised (though I did lose a little coffee when the lift lurched to a halt). However as this was a fun trip this was something to laugh about and not to get angry with.

The location is fine and pretty much everywhere we wanted to visit was only a metro ride away. We did not eat locally but there appeared to be a good choice of restaurants for all times of the day within five minutes walk from the hotel.

In all this hotel seemed good value and would come recommended, clean, polite service, just make sure to have a room as far from the lift as possible if you can!
