+ It was ok, clean and with a good bed.
- The public areas were very ordinary, and some of the staff, (male) were not particularly pleasant.
+ We know this hotel since more than 10 years and have been staying there
I stayed here for the third time in 6 years and frankly i don't know what's wrong to this place. It's a well run hotel, friendly, good breakfast and for the location : next to a subway that can bring youRead more everywhere and only a 10 minute walk to Centre Pompidou and Les Halles and all of the vivant Marais district.
We had a spacious room for Paris standards, everything clean.
No complaints. It's worth its star raiting and for the third time we where happy to be there, for me best place to be in Paris, will return for sure.
+ the deco of the hotel was very pleasing and it was very clean.
- on arrival there was no record of our reservation. we recieved no apologies and were told we were lucky they had a twin room. we had bookedRead more a double and i had our reservation refrence as proof! the room was very small and in a very poor part of town i did not feel at ease. we made reservations with and different hotel and checked out the next day. upon checking out the hotel staff were quite rude complaining this is not the way to do business. i replyed that as i was on holiday to celebrate my 1st wedding anniversary and only for 5 days i was deeply unhappy with the service recieved and this had cut down my holiday time by 1 day. still no apologie! i would not recomend this hotel for a sight seeing holiday in paris as the location is also quite a distance from the attractions.Hide
The hotel is clean and basic - but the location is too far out for what we wanted. It was right in the fashion wholesale district which was useless for us. The staff were friendly the rooms and bathroomRead more were clean, the bed comfy. It was a good walk to anywhere! It was good value for Paris prices - perhaps that is so because of the location. It does have a pretty park right opposite, but it had some unusual characters roaming about - not my kinda park!.
Beware. We booked a suite for 3 nights directly with the hotel six months in advance. We were travelling with our 14 year old son and needed a room large enough to accommodate 3 people, which is very difficultRead more to find in Paris. When we arrived to check in we were told by Monsieur Ali at Reception that there was a "problem" with the suites and that none of them were available. The alternative was two rooms at opposite ends of the corridor - not suitable as we did not want our son in a room by himself. We explained this to Monsieur Ali and asked him to explain exactly what the problem was with the suites. He was very rude and evasive but after having a stand up argument with him he told us that the suite was already occupied and would not be available for 2 of the 3 nights of our stay. We then asked him to find us alternative accommodation. He refused to do this. By this time it was early evening, and having no alternative accommodation we spent the first night in a small cramped room with a roll away provided for our son. The suite did become available the next day but the whole situation by this time had left us feeling very disappointed with the hotel. The staff at reception remained unhelpful and rude during our stay.
My mom and I just returned from Paris and enjoyed our stay at the Little Palace Hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. There is the issue with the park across the street with homeless menRead more living there. And yes, they do tend to get a bit loud at each other. But never once did they show any disrespect to people passing by. Our room faced the park, so when in the room I viewed their behavior. Another reviewer mentioned stale urine smell coming from the park. News flash.....all of Paris smelled like stale urine.
The hotel was very clean and convenient to all the attractions. The rooms were a bit tiny, but comfortable. I would recommend the Little Palace Hotel to anyone visiting Paris.
I surprised my mom with this trip to see Il Divo in concert at the Paris-Bercy. I had the tickets sent to the hotel. I didn't know the tickets were being sent registered mail. I happened to use my husbands credit card to purchase the tickets. My husband did not join us on this trip. The post office would not release the tickets to me, only the person to whom the letter was addressed. Even though I had all documentation and proof what was in the envelope.
Since there was the language barrier, it was very difficult for me to communicate with the postmaster. The young gentleman at the front desk of the hotel was an enormous help. He spent so much time being my personal translator and never once seemed annoyed. I did get the concert tickets and only by my husband faxing over a letter to the postmaster stating his permission to give me the envelope. The whole episode was a nightmare, but could have been worse if not for the Little Palace Hotel's staff member.
My Paris tour group through goaheadtours.com stayed here. I found the
room comfortable; the bathroom was fair-sized. The staff was always helpful. I actually sat and read in that "horrible" park acrossRead more the street and had no trouble. The hotel is convenient to four different metro lines, so it is no problem to get where you want. It is at the edge of the Marais district, so it's easy to reach the museums and sights in that neighborhood. The hotel is a block away from the Boulevard Sebastapol, which I found very nice.
If you've been to Paris before, you know what you're in for when it comes to hotels. Even some of the best and most expensive places have tiny rooms, tiny bathrooms, tiny closets, and no drawers. I've stayed at some that were quoted as modern in the description, but turned out to ancient. I'm happy to report that the LIttle Palace Hotel is a great little hotel in Paris in a good location for the price. It is rennovated, has a nice decor, and has modern features including a small flat screen TV) and mini bar with enough room for some of your own goodies. The bathroom was small, but clean. We found the bed to be comfortable. And we loved our balcony that look out over the park. The hotel staff was very friendly and provided us with the weather each morning.
Environs: It is a 10 min. walk to the heart of the Marais and Pompideu Center. It is 15-20 min. down to the Hotel de Ville and the Opera. There is a Metro entrance around the corner. While the dining options in the immediate vincinity are not fantastic, the Marais is not far.
It is not four star hotel, but we really enjoyed our stay.
After reading a positive review from the NY Times as well as the reviews from Trip Advisor I booked this hotel for a 1 week stay in Paris. This was my first time in Paris but I have travelled extensivelyRead more throughout Europe. The rooms are nicely decorated but that is where the positives end. Expect to sleep in a Futon. This was the most uncomfortable Bed I have ever slept in. I had a very difficult time sleeping at all. The location is TERRIBLE. Across the street is a scary looking park and the area in general is probably the least charming/interesting area in all of Paris. It is not withine walking distance of anything so you have to take the Metro or bus everywhere. This Hotel was so bad. I felt so tired everyday because of this horrible bed. The staff is not helpful. Their driver to the airport charges 60 Euro when you can pay 17 Euro for a door to door van service instead. The breakfast "buffet" is beyond ridiculous. 13 Euro for Warm Yogurt, Bad Coffee, and Croissants with Hair in it. I was literally shocked when I saw the location of this hotel - it was so bad. And from the 2 arguments we saw between other clients and the hotel staff other people have also had bad experiences. Please donot stay at this hotel. It will truly limit your enjoyment of Paris.
