Whilst the hotel provided what we needed for a few days in Paris, the rooms were rather tired and in need of some new furniture. The mini bar was empty although therefore room to put our own drinks in and the bar downstairs in the hotel was also empty! Just a few glasses and a corkscrew that were loaned to us for the room! The bathroom though was very modern and everything worked properly. The hotel is in a great position for heading out sightseeing and there were some fab restaurants within a few yards, namely Le Petit Prince (very busy - had to book) and Le Chou Coup (?)- excellent service. We took our two children (7 & 10) and they were served first which is always a good sign. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as there was a lovely boulangerie opposite that did all kinds of snacks and coffee so we people watched there instead!

The hotel is comfortable and quiet with very good level of service. Location is excellent in the heart of the Latin Quarter

One of the best Hotels in Paris. Excellent location, friendly staff, lovely rooms. The lift can take only one person comfortably. If you are on the 6th floor be prepared to lose weight or suffer a heart attack. All the reviews show that the guests were allocated 5th and 6th rooms. What about the others floors???? Otherwise excellent.

Location was excellent, walking distance to Notre Dame and a block from the subway and The Soborne.The area was safe to walk at night, many people on the street, very lively. A coffee shop across the street where you can find croissants, warm cheese sandwiches an more. The room was clean with two balconies on the sixth floor, nice bathroom, and quiet. Overall the hotel wouldn't be rated 3 1/2 starts in USA but for Paris where hotels are smalls this one was good for us, we went there only to sleep,"we were in Paris!". The only problem was the elevator too small and up to the 5th floor only but that wouldn't stop us to go back again.

We were VERY pleased with Hotel Claude Bernard. It is in the perfect location to see the sites we wanted to visit. We stayed 10 days and the service was wonderful. We will stay there again on our next visit!

Contrary to the reputation that the French people have acquired, the staff at the Claude Bernard was very polite and helpful. We booked a quad to save money, but when we arrived there were no quads available so they gave us two rooms at the same price, which was a better deal. Small rooms by USA standards, but a great location. Short walk to Notre Dame and lots of restaurants.

Great location. Quiet at night. Spacious room with a double bed and two singles (perfect for a family of four), the Claude Bernard was just what we needed for a quick three-night stay.

Very pleasant and welcoming hotel. The area had lots of interesting and pleasant places (historic, restautant, shops) and it was within walking distance of Notre Dame. The hotel was also close to the Metro station. The staff were very competent and extremely helpful and accomodating.

Room was really nice but small. The room wasn't very quiet, you could even hear somebody caugh in the other room. I think the staff should tell more clearly that the breakfest costs, because it was quite surprise for us. We had anyway really nice stay in the hotel and the staff was really nice!

The hotel was clean but very small. I was mislead by some of the reviews stating that the rooms were large. The lift was for one person. We were placed on the 6th floor that has no lift available after 5 and I was with two people over 70, very inconvient. The rooms were on street side so very loud. The photo of the room I was assuming to stay in, was not the room I received. The location was great but I would not recommend this to others.
