The best thing about the Daunou Opera is its location - in the heart of the Opera area. Very convenient and the hotel is within easy walking distance to many of the sights of Paris. The rooms are typically small. The place needs a bit of an uplift and a repainting program seems to be underway - but nothing substantial. Bit run down. Staff were neither very friendly nor helpful but this is not unusual in most of the smaller Paris hotels. A good enough place to stay for a short time - and very convenient.

Hotels in Paris are almost always on the pricey side and this one is no exception. But it is close to Opéra; the rooms have been redone recently with taste, and although they are somewhat small they offer all one needs for a short stay in the city. I would recommend this Paris hotel over many others in the same price range.

Nice central friendly hotel. Rooms are basic, but a good size and have everything you need. Ideal for visits to several main attractions, and especially Harry's New York Cocktail bar (home of the Bloody Mary) which is just across the road!!!

3*? I think not. Our small room had peeling wallpaper and blistered paintwork, old scratched furniture and a squeaky bed (though I was so tired I could have slept on nails!). The bathroom had a cracked/chipped sink and the shower was a hand held attachment. Definately not my idea of a 3* hotel - more budget standard with 3* price. On the plus side, the staff were pleasant and the location superb.

Whilst the reception and rooms were very clean and presentable the hallways on allthe floors looked like something from the 70's and were very worn. They seem to be carrying out repairs on this but it certainly takes away from the hotel and I was disappointed. Breakfast was good quality and location excellent. Overall I'd give it 6/10.

Bad bed to leave you aching a week after, no shower or bath with a stopper that works, no hospitality just a receiptions who plays dumb, lots of sewage smells in your room, small rooms with a view right into peoples offices, as in i can see them scratching their heads. Overall Bad Hotel !!!!!!!
