generally it was a good place to stay because hotel is close to everything.Rooms are in good condition,TV chanels availible in many languagies.It was difficult to get warmer tempr.in bathroom,but aircondition in the room was working perfectly.My room was in the 5 floor and I heard noice from upstairs but not from outside. Cleaners did good job in rooms and common areas, but there were some garbage in and around swimming pool in the evening and when my son asked bar personnel(next to this area)who is responsible for cleaning of swimmimg area,he got no answer. Dayshift staff in reception was helpful and friendly. I booked one double room, but got twins one instead and i asked to change room but got no offer during 5 days.I think it was one main person in the reception who should remember about my needs. In taxi from hotel to airport i paid 30 euro(is it not too much?). The venere.com is easy to use for booking hotel.

Splendid is a good European style hotel and lives up to the description on Venere. I found the reservations office very accommodating when I needed to make changes. Situated a few blocks from the beach, the train station and the popular restaurant areas on an attractive lush boulevard. We walked everywhere. The rooms,elevators, and pool are all a bit small for this price range but this would not stop me from staying there again.

Great hotel lovely roof top pool and terrace.Local restaurants very good had lovely breakfast in beach restaurant.Pedestrian area had good selection of shops and bars would stay here again.

My wife and I and our five month old son stayed for two nights at the Splendid as part of a weeklong holiday in Provence. We had stayed at their sister hotel, Hotel Gounod,before so we had an idea of how good the location was. We drove to the hotel and a porter immediately came out and parked our car in their garage and another swiftly brought our luggage in(we carried a lot) with minimum fuss. We had booked a standard room but the lady at reception having seen that we had a young baby with us, upgraded us to a suite at no extra cost to our delight. The rooftop pool offers fantasic views of Nice and is easily accessed from our hotel room. All of the staff were very pleasant and could speak good english. The hotel is easy to get to by car and is close to restaurants and old Nice(10-15 minute walk).I did not eat in the hotel so cannot comment on standard of food but with so many good restaurants nearby I was spoilt for choice. I would definitely be staying here again on my next visit.

Very good location. 5 minutes walk to beach, and close to train (10 minutes walk). The pool on the rooftop was free, and not too busy. The room had a balcony, which was great. It's fitness center was too small so we did not use it.

The Splendid Hotel was in a great location - 8 minutes to get to the promenade at the sea, closeby restaurants and shops and business center (with long hours and reasonable rates for internet), short walk to the main train station. Wonderful rooftop views of the sea, surrounding hills, the town. Spend an afternoon at the rooftop pool/whirlpool. Also have dinner at the rooftop restaurant - the food is very good there. Our room including the bathroom was very clean and pleasant. Also we had a terrace with a table and two chairs. All in all we give it a grade 'A' experience! We recommend the Venere web site and this hotel enthusiastically!

bathroom had strange configuration, not acceptable, too much noise due to construction and drilling, not able to request room arrangement via internet, (1 or 2 beds, non smoking etc. Changed to another room after first night, was on street, more noise. Let hotel after 2nd night and moved to another hotel. staff was nice at first but then did not continue. forgot to order Taxi, etc. right after was told. I would not return to this hotel.

Did not understand why the 8th Floor Bar had to Close at Midnight and also why there was no evening entertainment laid on upstairs considering it was a Grand Prix Weekend and seemingly no other Hotel was doing anything
