The rooftop restaurant is the best in Nice for lunch. Gym was not good - cheap non-functioning equipment Buffet Breakfast disappointing - but Nice in general can be a bit behind with its food - still back in the 1970's.

Hotel needs to be refurbished. Rooms are already old and therefore price seems not to be apropriate. Location is very good. Breakfast does not provide enough choice of food...no fresh vegetables.

The rooms need to be refurbished! The badroom didn't look good at all. (painting came of the wall, the water stayed in the badtub during a shower). The interior of the room looked very old as well.

This hotel may have a pool and roof top sun deck, however it doesn't tell you that it will cost you £10 per person per day to use it. Watch out for other hidden costs.

We booked a full ocean view room at Le Meridien Nice and had unfortunately paid in advance through hotel club. We were in fact given a room on the side of the hotel with a garden view and a partial ocean view and had no sun after 12 midday. Had we not paid for the whole stay in advance we would have left after one night. As part of their facilities they offer a sun deck with swimming pool and a private beach but what they don´t mention is that you are required to pay for both. 10 euro per day for the sun deck and 15 euro for the beach. If the hotel had not been so expensive or we had been told in advance we would never have minded having to pay for the extra facilities. To sum up a highly over-priced hotel for what it offers and a hotel which does not honour the booking you have made. We would not chose to stay at this or any other Le Meridien hotel again.

The describtion of the room stated, 'Classic room WITH patio' which should be rewritten as,'Classic room OVERLOOKING a patio/courtyard. Excellent location you could walk to most places from there. Most of the staff were not very friendly and we had to wait in a queue for breakfast.

We found the staff quite unfriendly, argumentative and patronising on issues that arose during our stay. Lifts, escalators and pools all out of service during our stay and we had to be moved at 5am as the noise of the broken lift was so loud it kept us awake through the night. Having stayed in other hotels of the same standard in various locations, I would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

Location could not be bettered. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Slight niggle over the need to pay for a day at pool side.

Buffet breakfast is adequate but not extensive. Room makeup was slow and late. Roome were clean but small. A good 3 star hotel but not the 4 it was given.

Le Meridien Hotel is vey nice, comfortable and has a warm atmosphere.We stayed there in November. The staff, especially receptionists were very nice, kind and friendly. I can not say the same thing for the Colonial Cafe-Restaurant at the hotel.

1. Right on seafront, but this is a very busy location, very noisy at night, car horns going in the street below until the early hours. Also affected by the proximity of a motor-bike carpark, contributing to very bad road noise. There is not enough noise insulation in the rooms. 2. Very expensive by our standards, though perhaps not for the South of France? 3. The walls between rooms are not well noise-insulated - we could clearly hear talking and activites etc.
