Remembering the pre-Concord Westminster one is somewhat disappointed by the sense of faded glory. The brochure suggests a much brighter ambience than the frankly depressing and run-down atmosphere pervading the hotel - even at Xmas. The rooms are inadequately lit for the time of year with 3 x 40w table lamps the only source of illumination. One had to sit in the bathroom to read! The buffet breakast was passable but coffee was never hot unless it was specifically requested. By 9.30 the buffet looked tired and uninviting. The staff were friendly and, of course, the location is ideal.

Unfortunately the hotel sufferred a failure of the hot water system during my stay which I suspect is an indicator of inadequate maintainence because it is starting to look a little tired. The service was mixed - some very good, some ordinary and some (a senior manager) just plain rude. The excellent location makes it value, but I would be a little hesitant about recomending it. In fairness, I do not know how it compares with the others in the immediate area, so I can not judge the comparison.

This is a very tired hotel that clearly needs an update! Yes, the location is good - but the rest is quite bad. In my views doing a fair bit of travelling this should be rated 2-3 stars. And to use your laptop in your room they charge 22 euro!!! Thats a crime

I have stayed twice at the Hotel Westminster. On both occasions a warm welcome, excellent staff, very comfortable room, fabulous breakfast and what a location!! Highly recommented (I'm going back in December!)

What a great hotel! travel alot with work and pleasure and am fussy about location, rooms and service and this hotel is great! Ok it's not the most modern of hotels but the rooms that have been upgraded on the 1st and 2nd floor are of a good standard. I paid £89 on line and to book direct at the hotel is £136,so I consider I got myself a bargin! Especially as I asked for an upgrade to a sea room and got upgraged FREE OF CHARGE!! Now that's service for you! The sea view room was noisy as it faces the traffic but the view and the balcony far out weighed that. I also stayed at the [other hotel] next door which is no where near as good as the WESTMINSTER especially the BREAKFAST,1st Class Breakfast, plenty of choice and FRESH! Over all Fantastic location, Brilliant service from all the staff at reception. Also only a 15 minute walk to the train station to whisk you away to Cannes, Monte Carlo etc! Although the shopping and restaurants in Nice are fab. I will be back!!!

It's a very nice hotel, in a key position to visit Nice and in front of the sea on the Promenade. Personal is very friendly. Breakfast was really good. Moreover, the hotel is really wonderfull, with celiling painted and historic rooms. Really worth staying at Westmister Hotel.

Excellent location on the Promenade des Anglais, a short walk to both the old town and the railway station. A warm, courteous and friendly welcome on arrival which continued throughout our stay. A very good buffet breakfast. We had a large twin room looking onto the Promenade. The sound proofing + shutter muffled most of the traffic noise and every morning we woke to a sparkling sea and blue skies. If you are a light sleeper then request a room at the back. Highly recommended...treat yourself to a stay at the Westminster. Monica Cowley, Dublin, Ireland.

Hotel beds were old, hard and sagging. pillows were lumpy. we asked for a double bed and got two singles. Room sizes were good and bathroom was fine. Location is great. Hard pressed to call it 4 star, more like 3
