The hotel staff were very efficent and very pleasant. The hotel was in an excellent position with subway links very close to the hotel . We could also open the windows at night without getting too much street noise. I would recomend this hotel to all family and friends with no hesitation.

We booked and paid for an EXECUTIVE KING room. When we checked in there were none available and we were given a standard double room. They could not make an adjustment because they did not know what rate we had paid to the hotel club. After speaking with the manager he told me that the EXECUTIVE KING was actually cheaper than a standard Double which was patently untrue but they refused to take any responsibility and told us to contact you. We waited for about an hour but could not make contact and submitted to the hotel.

All in all service was very good except Sunday room was not cleaned properly must have been short staffed even though sunday cost more the bed was made and the bin emptied and that seems to be all they did that day. The rooms are in good condition and location is great

We stayed sat 15th utill Wed 19th Dec, it was our first time in New York. The location was great. The hotel was beautifull. He were pleased when our taxi pulled up in front of the Helmsley hotel. The only thing we missed was tea and coffee making fertilities in our room. just a little thing. We would stay again and recommend people to stay.

We were very impressed with how close everything was in relation to our hotel - all major tourist locations within either walking distance or from Grand Central Station which was 5 minutes away. Staff very helpful. Enjoyed our stay very much. We will recommend this hotel.

On this four night stay everything was to our satisfaction, however, even on the 40th floor the street noise level was fairly high but nothing a pair of ear plugs didn't solve, I believe noise can be a problem wherever you stay in NY City. The iron and ironing board in the room were an added bonus and I have never seen so many towels in a hotel bathroom. The double bed was large and very comfortable. All of the staff we had dealings with were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is well located with a subway station only a few minutes walk away. The Pax deli right next door is a great place for breakfast. Our party of four would highly recommend the New York Helmsley and we intend to stay there again on our next trip to New York.

Excellent hotel in an excellent location.I read other reports saying the hotel was out dated but I was very impressed with the hotel. I stayed for 5 nights and was upgraded to a room on the second highest floor.Brilliant view of Empire State building and room had an excellent TV. On the down side some of the staff weren't too friandly and drinks were expensive.All in all a great hotel

The location is absolutely incredible, there's no better place in Manhattan! Just a few blocks away from any major place you want to visit. The hotel is very nice, staff are very friendly and efficient and facilities are very well maintained. However, decorations and bathroom look a bit old, and there was no mini-bar in the room. Amenities were quite disappointing also. However, I got great price deal through [website], which was more than worth paying for the location and hotel category. I would definitively recomend the Hotel and would not go anywhere else next time I visit the city.

Nice hotel, good location. Room was larger than I expected. Good view of the City and the Empire State Building. Coffee shops and inexpensive sandwich shops on the same block. Housekeeping wasn't good - - they didn't vacuum every day or clean the bathroom floor. However, overall the room and hotel appeared clean. Very good accommodations for the money.
